Dear Listener,

I can report that WBAI Pacifica has successfully completed its Consent Decree and has had its FCC license renewed until 2030. 

That was a big lift but we all pitched in and made it happen.

Now, we need to stabilize WBAI Pacifica's finances. It's vital we reach our Summer Pledge Drive goal of $200,000 by the end of August. Right now, we are at $72,000 with unions contributing about a third of that in the form of sustaining donations.

Over the last two years, since I became general manager, unions have contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to keep WBAI Pacifica Radio on the air. As a consequence, WBAI has been the source for a long list of national programs like Oct. 18th No Kings Day and May 1st that provided the soundtrack of a growing national anti-authoritarian movement.

It was here you heard the valiant day in, day out struggle of the New York State Nurses Association winter strike for safer staffing that puts patients ahead of profits. When President Trump tried to strip away the collective bargaining rights of a million federal workers, those civil servants, a third of whom are veterans, made their case on our airwaves.

Whether it's bringing you the latest news, via our 24-7 Pacifica Global News Desk, or the joyous sounds of a Rev. Billy & the Stopping Shopping Choir LIVE concert from the Quaker Meeting House in lower Manhattan, we are doing new and creative things on a shoestring but we need your help now.
