September Newsletter

Greetings, Community Partners,

I hope this note finds you well.

One of the most significant measures of success for any institution is its graduates. This year, Lone Star College-Houston North reached a historic milestone with 566 graduates—a 45% increase over the previous year. What makes this achievement even more meaningful is that over 40% of our graduates completed workforce programs.

The need for workforce offerings was the primary request from the community during the planning stages for our campus. Therefore, we are pleased to follow through with this commitment.

For a list of our campus workforce programs, visit LoneStar.edu/HNWorkforce, or LoneStar.edu/Programs-of-Study for the full range of offerings across all Lone Star College campuses.

This Week: Home Openers

I'm also excited to announce that our Panthers are playing home openers this week:

  • Men's Basketball: Friday, Sept. 25 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Lone Star College-North Harris

Both games are free and open to the public and will be held at the Fallbrook Church gym, 12512 Walters Rd., Houston, TX 77014.

Both teams won championships in the fall and were in the championship games in the spring. Please come out and support them as they aim to continue their success.

Student can get ready for class with Panther Prep!

Panther Prep is an on-campus event tailored for registered students to attend during their first week of class. Staff and faculty answered questions and provided valuable resources to ensure that students have what they need to succeed throughout the semester.

During 8-week-1, 124 students were served during two Panther Prep sessions that took place at LSC-Houston North Fairbanks and Fallbrook locations. We had a great turnout with 52 students at Fallbrook, including several parents, and 72 students attended Panther Prep at Fairbanks. Students learned about college resources, received their student IDs, attended several workshops, and participated in social media reels.

Have a student who will be registering for 8-week-2 classes? Plan to attend our Panther Prep Resource Fair!
