What a busy month! April began with children planting blue pinwheels in our gardens for Child Abuse Prevention Month. Blue pinwheels are the national symbol for the great childhoods all children deserve. They are visual reminders of our dream for kids to grow up happy, in supportive families and safe communities. We've enjoyed watching the pinwheels spinning their message of hope all month long!

On April 9th, members of the Blue Ribbon Brigade Motorcycle Club ran a diaper drive for Old Mill Center families. The club dedicates its time to raising awareness about child abuse and helping abused children move through the healing process. We are so grateful for their support and the many boxes of diapers the drive collected.

We also celebrated National Volunteer Week from April 17th - 23rd. Our new Volunteer Coordinator Kim Moore decorated the welcome area with a banner, balloons, and the words "thank you" and "volunteers" written in many languages (on hearts the children finger-painted!). Each of our wonderful volunteers also received a coffee gift card as a small token of our appreciation. Thank you, volunteers, for your time and commitment to our work!
