A New Leader to a New 'Biotech Bridge'


FAU's Charles E. Schmidt College of Science recently appointed Shailaja Allani, Ph.D., associate scientist, department of chemistry and biochemistry, as the director of the Center for Molecular Biology and Biotechnology and the newly named FAU Biotech Bridge program.

Meet Evelyn Hall


Evelyn Hall is a new administrator of operations in the Division of Research's Office of Vice President.


She's a mentor, teacher and has accomplished a variety of scholarly activities.


"I've always wanted to work for a university," Hall said. "Great opportunity for work-life balance and continuing education. I love the energy and vibe at FAU. It is inspiring and an honor providing service to students, faculty and research professors."

The National Council of University Research Administrator (NCURA) is hosting a webinar on the National Institutes Health Data Management and Sharing Policy.

Deadline Extended: Collaborative Research Grant Proposals Sought


FAU's Jupiter Life Science Initiative and the Institute for Human Health and Disease Intervention are calling for collaborative research grant proposals.The funding is designed to support initiating collaborations between Jupiter-based faculty and partner institutes, Max Planck Florida Institute and The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation and Technology, aimed at original and innovative research in the field of life science.


Applications due by 5 p.m. Nov. 17. Awards announced by Dec. 8.
