From virtual reality to DNA taste tests and autonomous go-carts, the hands-on exhibits give you a behind the scenes look at how researchers at FAU are changing our world.

FAU's faculty, staff, students, and their families are welcome to enjoy an evening of live music and hors d’oeuvres, courtesy of Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, while experiencing FAU research like never before!

The encounter starts now! RSVP HERE.
A Calculated Science Surprise

A researcher from the Charles E. This suggests that surprise signals a common factor that would hinder or prevent an action and motivated control of behavior. READ MORE.
Building Trust with a Self-driving Car

Mehrdad Nojoumian , Ph.D., an assistant professor from the College of Engineering and Computer Science , and other researchers,  have introduced a new approach to measure trust between passengers and self-driving cars in real-time. The unique, immersive virtual reality (VR) simulation combines visual, audio and movement engagement for a convincingly realistic simulation. Results of an experiment using this new approach, indicated that most subjects could rebuild trust during a reasonable time frame after a system demonstrated faulty behavior . MORE.
