Memory Insights to Help Psych Disorders
Using EEG, neuroscientists have a better understanding of working memory and how dysfunction contributes to common psychiatric disorders like schizophrenia and autism. The Journal of Neuroscience recently published these findings from a College of Science study.
Simply Translating English Not Enough
An analysis by two College of Education faculty members contributes to discussions of the impact of neoliberalism in curriculum through the examination of the hegemonic role that language plays. Andres Ramirez, Ph.D., and Sabrina F. Sembiante, Ph.D., argue for the inadequacy of using translated versions of English texts in English-Spanish dual language programs in the Bilingual Research Journal.
FAU-Max Planck Student Hits High Note
The journal Neuron recently published the findings of a doctoral candidate in the Integrative Biology-Neuroscience program on the ability of Purkinje cells to alter neuronal plasticity and instruct adaptive behavior within the cerebellum. Ke Zhang is also a student in the International Max Planck Research School for Brain and Behavior. READ MORE.
