Chemists' Paper Published in High Impact Journal
Lyndon Wes, Ph.D., and Stephane Roche, Ph.D., of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, were recently published in
Angewandte Chemie. They synthesized the core structure of bielschowskysin, a marine natural product from the Caribbean coral
Psedopterogorgia kallos. This compound has attracted much attention from scientists for its structural complexity and medicinal potential against lung and renal cancers.

New Addition to the FAU Brain Institute
Kathleen Guthrie, Ph.D., is now the assistant director for educational programs, and will oversee the institute’s contribution to neuroscience academic programming with emphasis on the recently inaugurated graduate neuroscience training program and the post-baccalaureate Research Scholars Program.

Theatre Lab productions received three nominations for
Carbonell Awards, recognizing excellence in theater, for Best Actres
