It all started several decades ago but more recently, Indian-origin engineers have burst into the CEO ranks in droves. The latest CEO announcement came from Twitter as Jack Dorsey handed the reigns to CTO Parag Agrawal.

GOPIO, AAPI, AIA, NFIA & ASEI jointly host virtual discussion in celebration of the Indian Diaspora


ASEI BOD member and GOPIO founder Dr Thomas Abraham moderated the book discussion on Nov6th. This was indeed a celebration of entire Indian diaspora and their achievements with leaders from Indian professional organizations in the US. ASEI President Piyush Malik joined the panel to speak along with other leaders (engineers, doctors, hoteliers, Industry bodies etc) and a number of authors of the book “Kamala Harris and the Rise of Indian Americans”

Remembering ASEI Founder


On Nov 9th, the anniversary of Dr Hari Bindal's passing, the ASEI fraternity remembered its founding father as DC Chapter representatives (President Venkat and Life member Dr Ajay Kothari) joined Bindal family in remembering and celebrating his life and accomplishments. A quintessential community builder and a respected Civil Engineer, his contributions to the Ganga Rejuvenation Project had earned him the prestigious “Pravasi Bharatiya Samman” in 2017 from the President of India and “Pravasi UP Ratna” Award from the Governor of Uttar Pradesh in 2019.

#ASEI encourages diversity in all engineering disciplines including computing (computer engineering, computer science, and related fields). The picture here is a salute to all the women leaders serving on the boards of various ASEI chapters.

We have a history of promoting women in our youth programs over the years with top honors repeatedly shared by girls including Jyoti Rani (BETS 2020) and Nidhi Mathihalli (YTE 2020). Some of our exemplary members have even been recognized in the past by National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT ) and Women in Technology International (WITI)
