Discoveries

How do thirsty plants hold out during drought?

The United States and Mexico have been in a historic megadrought since the turn of the century. Salk Institute scientists turned to a laboratory stand-in for crops like wheat and corn, called Arabidopsis thaliana, in their search for ways to make our crops more resilient in the face of drought.
