SSoM Welcomes New Member District
HELENA FLATS SCHOOL
Established in 1892, Helena Flats School is a moderately sized K-8 district serving approximately 280 students in Kalispell, MT. Their leadership team implemented a STEM-education focus this year, and the district is making gains with SIPPS and a dedicated reading intervention specialist. Helena Flats School was recently selected for the 2022 Best of Kalispell Award in the Public Educational Institution category by the Kalispell Award Program.
Since early 2021, Helena Flats School has worked with SSoM through customized Professional Learning plans, they recently switched to SSoM Infinite Campus support, and they are exploring additional SSoM programs and services.

SSoM MEDICAID BILLING PROGRAM
This program has maximized efficiencies and reimbursements for eligible students with IEPs in Montana's schools for over 9 years. More than 800 direct care providers in Montana currently log services online in the SSoM Service Portal. School districts can be reimbursed for these services for students that have Medicaid. Our system sends claims to Montana Medicaid weekly based on services rendered and the completion of paperwork required for compliance, and schools receive reimbursements weekly.

- Your current SPED Director is a vital component in the success of your Medicaid Billing partnership with SSoM, and we urge them to contact us with questions.
- While any school or SPED co-op may utilize this program, member districts receive a 20% service fee discount.

FEDERAL GRANT OPPORTUNITY
|
|
U.S. DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY ANNOUNCES $80M IN GRANTS FOR SCHOOL ENERGY PROJECTS
The U.S. Department of Energy recently announced more than $80M, the first tranche of funding in a $500M investment, to make clean energy improvements in K-12 public schools. Funds will empower school districts to make upgrades that will lower facilities’ energy costs and improve student learning environments.
Grant applications will open by the end of 2022.
