STOP the Farm Bill!

The House Agriculture Committee has advanced the Farm Bill, moving it to the House Floor for a vote.

The bill would give even greater power to major agrochemical and tech corporations, shield pesticide manufacturers from accountability, and strip California of its ability to set its own pesticide safety rules. We must stop it!

For Organizations:
Last month, over 50 organizations signed CPR’s letter urging the Democratic Members of the California Congressional Delegation to oppose the bill. Join these signatories by Monday April 13 at 5pm!

Contact the U.S. Senate and urge them to reject this harmful bill.

Support New Bill to Ban PFAS Pesticides in CA

Every year 2.5 million pounds of PFAS pesticides are applied in California! These "forever chemicals” persist in our food, bodies, and the environment and are linked to immune, developmental and reproductive harm.

AB 1603 (Asm. Shultz) would prohibit the registration of new PFAS pesticides and gradually phaseout the use of all PFAS pesticides in agriculture.

CPR is proud to co-sponsor AB 1603, along with the Environmental Working Group (EWG), Pesticide Action and Agroecology Network (PAN), and the Center for Environmental Health (CEH).

Two Public Comment Opportunities Now Open

DPR is inviting public input on two important programs. Don’t miss your chance to weigh in before the deadlines below.

1. SprayDays First Annual Status Report — Comments due May 1

DPR has released its first annual report on the state’s pioneering SprayDays pesticide notification system. The report notes that the public wants the exact location of pesticide applications (see p.22)—but it seems that DPR does not plan to provide it (see p.28).

We urge DPR to release the exact locations of planned pesticide applications, not just the current vague “1-square-mile vicinity.”

2. Air Monitoring Network Expansion Proposal — Comments Due May 11
