Simplicity

The pursuit of less

As the new year unfolds, many of us struggle to prioritize self-care amid the chaos of an overwhelming world. Am I alone in this? In these moments, I turn to the wisdom of Ayurveda and its ancient philosophy.

"Balance is the essence of life."

So, when fear arises, I seek love. When confusion clouds my mind, I look for certainty. When anxiety takes hold, I ground myself in composure. Through this practice, I rediscover peace—a harmony of mind, body, and spirit.

Simplicity isn’t about doing less; it’s about finding balance and focusing on fewer things with greater purpose. Think of a perfectly brewed cup of coffee, a serene minimalist room, or a heartfelt conversation that says it all without saying too much. It's a celebration of the power of balance—where less truly becomes more.

"My mantra for this year is KIS—Keep Life Simple!"

Beyond the obvious benefits like reduced stress, improved focus, and better physical health, practicing the art of simplicity can offer deeper ways to bring balance into your life.

🌼 Boosts Resilience: Simplifying life prioritizes emotional needs, reducing drama and building a stable, positive mindset.

🌼 Supports Financial Wellness: Mindful spending and less financial stress promote mental peace and well-being.

🌼 Increases Energy for Priorities: Simplifying frees energy for passions, hobbies, and meaningful pursuits, fostering joy.

🌼 Aligns with Natural Rhythms: A simpler lifestyle encourages rest and harmony with natural cycles, enhancing overall health.

🌼 Deepens Nature Connection: More time outdoors reduces stress, boosts creativity, and improves mental and physical health.

In short, stay clear of life’s drama. Though it may seem thrilling at times, embracing KIS allows you to savor the often-overlooked beauty of life

The Little Book of Hygge

by Meik Wiking

A fun read on why Danes are the happiest people in the world. The answer, says Meik Wiking, is Hygge. Loosely translated, Hygge―pronounced Hoo-ga―is a sense of comfort, togetherness, and well-being. "Hygge is about an atmosphere and an experience," Wiking explains. "It is about being with the people we love. A feeling of home. A feeling that we are safe."

Meik Wiking founded the world's first Happiness Research Institute in 2013, in Copenhagen, Denmark, and is a New York Times and The Times Bestselling author. Besides his work at the Happiness Research Institute, he is a Research Associate for Denmark at the World Database of Happiness, a member of the policy advisory group for the Global Happiness Policy Report, and founder of The Happiness Museum in Copenhagen.
