💘 When a “New Love Interest” Won’t Meet in Person 💘

Met someone online who always has an excuse not to meet?

The FTC warns that this is one of the biggest red flags of a romance scam, and AI tools are making these scams harder to spot.

Watch for these signs of a scam

  • They can’t meet you in person. Scammers often claim they’re deployed, overseas for business, or working on an oil rig. Plans to meet always fall through.

  • They eventually ask for money. The story may be emotional; a medical emergency, travel costs, or a sudden crisis.

  • They tell you how to pay. Requests for wire transfers, gift cards, payment apps, or cryptocurrency are major red flags.

What to do

  • Stop communicating and talk to someone you trust.

  • Search online for their job title plus the word “scammer.”

  • Try a reverse image search of their profile photo to see if it appears under other names.

If an online love interest asks for money, it’s a scam. Report it at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.

Turn Your Lock Screen Into a Live Weather Dashboard

See current conditions the moment you pick up your iPhone. iOS 26.3 makes weather more visible, faster to access, and easier to customize. iOS 26.3 adds a dedicated Weather category to the Lock Screen wallpaper picker with new preset layouts. Here’s how to turn your iPhone into a real-time weather dashboard in under a minute.

How many times a day do you check the weather?

Before a walk.

Before a meeting.

Before school pickup.

Before a flight.

Now imagine seeing current conditions, animations, and forecast details the instant your screen wakes up.

No app tap required.

Here's a Cool Tip:  Use the Weather Lock Screen.

With iOS 26.3, Apple separates Weather from Astronomy in the Lock Screen customization menu and introduces new preset Weather layouts, making it easier to create a glanceable, live weather dashboard right on your Lock Screen.

This is not just cosmetic.

It changes how quickly you access useful information throughout the day.

Feature Explanation

What It Is

iOS 26.3 adds a standalone Weather category in the Lock Screen wallpaper picker. Previously, Weather was grouped under Astronomy.

Now it has its own section with preset layouts and clock configurations.

These Weather wallpapers are dynamic.

They display real-time conditions such as rain, sun, clouds, or snow based on your location.

How It Works

The Lock Screen pulls data from the native Weather app.

When Weather wallpaper is active:

  • Background animations reflect live conditions.
  • Widgets can display temperature, precipitation, wind, UV index, and more.
  • Time fonts and layout presets are preconfigured for clarity.

Why It Matters

This turns passive screen space into useful signal.

Instead of unlocking your phone to check weather, you absorb it instantly.

For business users, that means quicker decision-making.

For parents, faster planning. For travelers, fewer surprises.

What You’ll Gain

  • At-a-glance awareness: See current conditions instantly.
  • Fewer taps: Reduce repetitive Weather app checks.
  • Cleaner customization: Weather now has its own dedicated layout section.
  • Smarter daily planning: Know when rain or heat is coming before stepping outside.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Here's how to do it.

iOS

  1. Go to Settings → General → Software Update. Install if available.
  2. Press and hold on your Lock Screen until the wallpaper gallery appears.
  3. Choose Add New Wallpaper.
  4. You’ll now see Weather as its own category. Tap it.
  5. Swipe between preset Weather designs with different clock fonts and widget placements.
  6. Tap the widget area under the clock to add temperature, precipitation, wind, UV index, or air quality.
  7. Tap the time to modify font and color for readability.
  8. Tap Add → Set as Wallpaper Pair or customize Home Screen separately.

  • Dynamic visuals improve glanceability.
  • Great for travel and outdoor workflows.

Cons

  • Primarily cosmetic enhancement.
  • Requires location services for best experience.
  • Heavy animations may slightly impact battery on older devices.

Feature Access

  • Available on iPhones compatible with iOS 26.3.
  • If not visible, the feature may be currently rolling out.

Check out these Cool Tips & Tricks

  • Widget Swap: Switch your secondary data points to match the current season or local climate. Tap the widget area in the customization tool to replace temperature with precipitation.

  • Font Weight: Increase the thickness of the clock to make it easier to see in direct sunlight. Tap the time while editing to select a bolder font style and high-contrast color.

  • UV Tracking: Protect your skin by monitoring the solar intensity throughout the day. Add the UV Index widget to your dashboard from the Weather widget picker.

  • Wind Check: Monitor local wind speeds and directions before heading out for a bike ride or run. Select the Wind widget to place live velocity data on your screen.

  • Air Quality: Stay informed about local pollution levels if you live in or travel to a major city. Add the AQI widget to see the Air Quality Index at a glance.

  • Battery Balance: Save power on older devices by choosing a static weather style rather than live animations. Select a simplified Weather preset to reduce the load on your battery.

  • Minimal Mode: Create a distraction-free layout by removing all extra data blocks except for the background. Tap the minus icon on each widget to clear the space for a clean look.

  • Travel Prep: Check the conditions of your destination before you even leave the house. Manually add your target city in the Weather app so it appears as a selectable Lock Screen option.
