🚨Booking.com Data Breach. Check Your Reservations🚨

Popular travel site Booking.com has confirmed a data breach affecting customer reservation details, names, email addresses, and phone numbers.

The company says it detected “suspicious activity” involving unauthorized access to booking information and has reset PINs for affected reservations to block further misuse.

While Booking.com reports that no physical addresses were exposed, users are already seeing phishing attempts via email and WhatsApp posing as legitimate Booking.com agents.

If you’ve booked travel online recently, double-check your reservation emails and avoid clicking links or sharing payment details with anyone claiming to be from Booking.com.

The company has not disclosed how many users were affected but says it has contained the issue and notified impacted customers.

Organize Your Research with Notebooks in Google Gemini

Turn scattered notes and documents into a structured knowledge base using the new integrated Notebooks feature in Gemini.

Gemini now includes a dedicated Notebooks feature that allows you to upload documents, ask complex questions across multiple sources, and generate structured guides. This update brings the powerful research capabilities of NotebookLM directly into the main Gemini interface for a more streamlined workflow.

Have you ever found yourself staring at a dozen open browser tabs, three PDFs, and a messy Word document, wondering how to make sense of it all?

Researching a complex topic often feels like trying to assemble a jigsaw puzzle where the pieces are hidden in different rooms.

Here's a Cool Tip: Use Google Notebooks in Gemini.

Google recently addressed this fragmentation by integrating Notebooks into Gemini.

Instead of just chatting with an AI, you can now build a private "brain" for your specific projects.

This tool changes the way we interact with information by grounding the AI’s responses in your own curated library of data.

Feature Explanation

Notebooks feature in Gemini is a workspace where you can upload your own files, such as PDFs, text documents, or meeting transcripts, and use them as the primary source for the AI.

While a standard chat with Gemini pulls from the general web, a Notebook prioritizes the content you provide.

This process, often called grounding, significantly reduces the chance of the AI making things up because it is tethered to your specific documents.

The interface allows you to toggle between different sources, create "Studio" notes, and even generate deep-dive audio discussions or study guides based on your uploads.

It is essentially a bridge between Google’s creative AI and the specialized research capabilities previously found only in the standalone NotebookLM experimental tool.

What You’ll Gain

  • Source-Grounded Accuracy: Get answers based strictly on your uploaded documents rather than generic internet data.
  • Streamlined Synthesis: Automatically summarize hundreds of pages across multiple files into a single coherent briefing.
  • Creative Outputs: Convert dry technical manuals into FAQs, study guides, or even podcast-style audio overviews.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Here's how to do it.

Web / Desktop (Google Chrome or Edge)

  1. Navigate to the Gemini website, gemini.google.com.
  2. Look for the Notebooks icon in the left-hand sidebar menu.
  3. Click New Notebook to start a fresh project.
  4. Name your new Notebook.
  5. Click Add Sources or select the Plus (+) icon to upload files from your local drive or select documents directly from Google Drive.
  6. Wait for the AI to index the sources.
  7. Once finished, type a prompt like "Summarize the key findings from these three reports" in the chat box.

iOS and Android (Coming Soon)

  1. Open the Gemini app (iOS Android).
  2. Tap the Menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top corner.
  3. Select Notebooks from the list of features.
  4. Tap New Notebook and use the attachment icon to upload mobile-friendly files or cloud-based docs.
  5. Interact with the notebook using voice or text prompts.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • High-speed processing of long-form content that would take hours to read manually.
  • Citations allow you to click a response and see exactly which page of your PDF the information came from.

Cons:

  • Privacy-conscious businesses must ensure they are using Enterprise versions to prevent data from being used in general model training.
  • The interface can feel cluttered when managing more than ten sources at once.

Feature Access

This feature is currently rolling out to Gemini Advanced subscribers and Google Workspace users.

It is available globally in English.

Score

Criterion | Score (0–10) | Justification
Value 9
It solves the problem of AI "hallucinations" by sticking to your data.
Usability 8
The interface is intuitive, though managing many files needs a better UI.
Wow Factor 9
The ability to generate an audio summary of your own notes is incredible.
Total: 26/30 |  🌟 Excellent
This is the most practical update to Gemini yet, transforming it from a simple chatbot into a professional research assistant that rivals specialized tools like Obsidian or Notion AI.

Key Takeaways

Notebooks in Gemini allow you to ground AI responses in your own personal or professional documents.

This feature minimizes errors and maximizes the utility of your existing files by providing instant summaries and comparisons.
