Summertime is beach time for many Delawareans! In Sussex County, we are blessed to have months of great weather, nice sandy beaches, a wide variety of food options, and plenty of lodging and recreation choices too. Many State Chamber members are headquartered in Sussex County, while other members have operations spread about the state. Within what I will call the “greater chamber family”, there are chambers of commerce in Georgetown, Milton, Milford, Millsboro, Rehoboth and Dewey Beach, Bethany-Fenwick, Lewes, and Western Sussex. If you have business operations in Sussex County, I encourage you to check out the local chambers for they are a great source of information and local connections!

News You Can Use

We kick off the week for economic news with what is historically one of the quietest weeks of the year. April factory orders are released this morning, while April U.S. trade deficit and consumer credit numbers are out Wednesday. Thursday brings us an early look at jobless claims from the first full week of June, and wholesale inventory data from April.

GitLab and Science Applications host earnings calls today, followed by Casey’s General, Cracker Barrel, Dave & Buster’s, J.M. Smucker, and Thor Industries on Tuesday. Scheduled for Wednesday is Brown-Forman, Campbell Soup, Lovesac, and United Natural Foods. DocuSign headlines the Thursday calls, which also includes FuelCell Energy, Toro, and Vail Resorts. Automaker Nio is the only scheduled call on Friday.
