TIM'S CORNER

Happy Holidays! The Garden is covered in snow and providing a beautiful place to reflect on an amazing 2022 as we celebrated 90 years of promoting peace.

We are grateful for the many visitors and supporters who continue to make the International Peace Garden one of the most special institutions in the world. As a non-profit in Canada and the U.S., the Garden relies on the public to keep us whole and able to provide great experiences and opportunities for families.

We hope you will consider supporting us through a variety of opportunities, including our Adopt A Flower Bed program, year-end appeal, capital campaign and other avenues that best fit your affinity for the Garden.

The pandemic affected us in many ways, but we were fortunate to see a return of visitors in 2022. The ArriveCan requirements have been lifted and we continue to encourage Canadians to return. The winter provides a great opportunity to see the Turtle Mountain's beauty! We are grooming ski trails this year and offering great deals for families and groups to stay in our winter cabins.

The Garden is working hard on a new 10-year strategic plan to be unveiled in 2023 when we reopen our expanded Conservatory. The building is nearing completion and will provide a stunning 12-month attraction for the world-class Vitko Collection of cacti and succulents. Don't forget we opened our new Children's Play Area this year and a fox zone is being added in the spring!

Best wishes for a cozy holiday season!

SKI TRAILS

We're excited to announce that this winter, we'll be grooming 5 miles of classic ski trails at IPG. There will be three trails throughout the Garden, so you can explore and enjoy the beauty of winter. And if you want to stay the weekend, we have cabins available for rent. So grab your skis and enjoy the winter wonderland!

CONSERVATORY UPDATE

The International Peace Garden's Conservatory Expansion continues as we quickly approach full enclosure of the expansion's connection to the existing Solarium. The additional height, bed space and visitor seating and trails is making for a wonderful new 12-month experience that will open in summer of 2023! This facility is home to the world-class Don Vitko Collection of cacti and succulents from Minot, N.D., and will soon be joined by the outdoor collection of hardy cacti from Ernie "Dr. Cacti" Brown of Winnipeg, M.B.

We are raising money through our Capital Campaign for additional improvements, including outdoor event patios surrounding the Conservatory.

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

WEDDINGS AND EVENTS

The International Peace Garden is one of the most unique and beautiful places to visit and we would love to host your next function. The natural setting, enhanced with gorgeous and unique flower beds, makes a fantastic and relaxing background for your wedding, family reunions or picnics and other social events. Within the Garden there are also a number of venues that allow businesses and professionals to host half-day, one-day and multi-day retreats, conferences and more.

Weddings can be held at the Errick Willis Pavillion with Lake Stormon in the background or in our Historic Lodge – the oldest building on site or in the Conservatory amongst the Don Vitko Cacti Collection. The Formal Garden provides a stunning and unique location for your ceremony. The Garden will give you 4 seasons of colors! Full of annual beds in the summer, gorgeous perennials in the spring, the reds, orange and yellows in the fall are stunning and you can’t beat the winter wonderland for your fairy tale wedding!

The numerous picnic locations in the Garden allow you to plan your family reunions and birthday parties!

The Burdick Center and our Conference Room provides space for retreats, conferences and meetings for small to large groups. Both of these locations are equipped with the technical needs you may require.

We will work with you to ensure all your needs are met! We have a full-service campground, cabins and dorms available for rent. We can work with you to provide coffee breaks, lunch and dinners! We will also work with your caterers (if you prefer), photographers, videographers and technical teams.

Contact Jennifer, our Visitor Services Manager, to discuss your next event at the Garden! She may be reached by email at [email protected] or by calling extension 141!

ADOPT A FLOWER BED IS BACK!

For a second year, the Garden is offering great sponsorship opportunities for businesses, families and memorials! See our website for more information and designs to consider sponsoring. Our 2023 Theme is "Looking Sharp" as we celebrate the Conservatory expansion.

Thank you for all of your help and support of the International Peace Garden. We are a non-profit organization.
