At The

Victory Theatre

Exciting developments have been happening at the Victory since our last update!

Here is all the progress completed so far:


  • Additional roof repairs were completed


  • Roof drains and piping at high ceiling were replaced
  • All seats within the theater will be removed and disposed of


  • The entire ground floor balcony ceiling was removed and disposed of
  • Additional selective demo at the 2nd floor (concessions and stairwells) and upper balcony ceiling will be complete. This selective demo will allow the structural engineer to review and investigate the existing structure, specifically where large steel trusses connect to the exterior building walls and large support beams within the building.
 
  • Items salvaged for refurbishing, reproduction and design development:

a.   Aisle seat stanchions

b.   Aisle and non aisle wooden arm rests

c.   Aisle seat end caps

d.   Lower balcony light fixtures

e.   Plaster light fixture base

f.    Plaster moldings, trim and details throughout the lower balcony ceiling



  • Victory Theatre and adjacent Holyoke House coal vault investigation and review

Victory Theatre rehab in Holyoke nears key hurdle, as bid docs for $71M project nearly ready

HOLYOKE — Construction bid documents for the $71 million planned rehabilitation and reopening of the 1920 Broadway-style Victory Theatre in downtown are expected to be finalized by the end of summer — a good sign for a project that many believe will be transformational for the region’s arts scene and serve as an economic catalyst for Holyoke.
