Complete nonprofit funding & capacity survey to support sector advocacy efforts | |
Federal policy developments continue to present both challenges and opportunities for the nonprofit sector. From proposed changes to charitable giving incentives to shifts in federal funding priorities, it’s clear that we must stay proactive and united in our advocacy.
In partnership with the Texas Rural Funders, we are sharing a survey to better understand how recent policy changes are impacting nonprofits. Your responses will be kept confidential and only be used in aggregate to build understanding of what rural nonprofits in Texas are experiencing. We encourage you to complete the survey by Monday, May 12, and to share it with your networks.

The dismantling of AmeriCorps could result in the elimination of essential community services, displacement of hundreds of dedicated members serving in Texas, and undermining of state-driven solutions to critical local needs. We must stand together to ensure AmeriCorps can continue its decades-long, bipartisan mission of strengthening our nation's communities and empowering a new generation of service-minded leaders. Send a letter to your Members of Congress to protect critical federal investments in AmeriCorps programs. (Voices for National Service)

We must act now to strengthen incentives for charitable giving nationwide by expanding and extending the non-itemizer deduction, a bipartisan solution that will empower more individuals to support vital charitable organizations and bolster our communities. Federal expansion of the charitable deduction could hold the key to unlocking greater generosity in Texas. Email your Members of Congress and ask them to support the bipartisan Charitable Act (S. 317, H.R. 801), which strengthens incentives for charitable donations. (Charitable Giving Coalition)

Proposed SNAP cuts—including a new requirement for a state match—could have serious consequences for Texas families and our economy. These changes risk reducing access to food for those who need it most, putting billions in economic activity and thousands of jobs at risk, and weakening the bipartisan foundation of the Farm Bill. Protecting SNAP isn’t just about addressing hunger—it’s about supporting the health of our communities and the strength of our state. Join us in urging Members of Congress to protect SNAP and reject harmful cuts. Your voice can help ensure a brighter, more secure future for all Texans. (Feeding Texas)

The expanded Child Tax Credit (CTC) is a proven, bipartisan tool that demands our support in the new tax bill to lift millions of children out of poverty, strengthen families statewide, and build a more prosperous future for Texas communities. We must seize this critical opportunity to ensure all children have the chance to thrive by expanding and fully funding this essential investment. Send a letter to your Members of Congress sharing how the CTC supports families in your community and urging them to strengthen the CTC in the upcoming tax bill. (United Way Worldwide)
