Whatās New at Linden Tree | | | |
Friends,
A huge thank you to everyone who came out to our events this past week! We tested the limits of our shopās capacity with James Ponti on Thursday, cramming kids and adults into every nook and cranny of our upstairs area.
And then we filled Spangenberg Theater on Sunday (pictured above) to hear graphic novel legends Raina Telgemeier and Gale Galligan discuss their Baby-Sitters Club graphic novel adaptations. Afterwards, we broke the Guinness record for fastest meet-and-greet line. š¤£
But our fall is just getting started: I've updated our events calendar with our October events, so take a look and start marking your calendars now!
š Books Iām looking forward to this week: Some of the best picture books tackle big questions and frame them in way even the youngest readers can understand. I Will Eat You in the End by David Duff and Marianna Coppo does this brilliantly, exploring the circle of life through a silly conversation between a worm and dinosaur. Alternately hilarious and serious, silly and educational, this longer-than-usual picture book will keep readers giggling and thinking.
See you at the shop,
Chris

Melissa Koch
Sunday, September 20 at 10:30am
Join us for a special storytime as author Melissa Koch shares her fascinating debut nonfiction picture book, Stone by Stone: A Rockās Journey Through Time.
Changed by billions of years and shaped by human hands, the stones that make up our homes, roadways, buildings, and bridges are a part of our story. Earthās story.
From ancient cairns to castles, from the Great Wall of China to Maya cities, the stone structures we build tell us who we are, what we value, what we fear, and who we want to be. The story begins deep below the Earthās surface. All those stones start with a rock.
Stone by Stone invites readers to consider how geology, engineering, and human history connect. The book opens with a striking and dramatic description of the rock cycle before delving into the many ways humans have used stones across history to rebuild, reconnect, and reimagine our place on Earth.
