6th Annual Vietnamese Caregiver Conference


On Saturday, November 4th, the 6th Annual Vietnamese Caregiver Conference took place at the Vietnamese Amerian Cultural Center. Approximately 100 attendees came to listen to speakers talk about CARE, the Vietnamese Insights into Aging (VIP) study, hospice and advance caredirectives, Alzheimer's and dementia, and health care benefits and changes to Medicare/Medical.

AANHPI News & Research

New cohort research project, ARISE, receives grant funding from the National Institute on Aging


We are thrilled to announce the launch of ARISE, a research project dedicated to unraveling the impacts of multi-level discrimination on cognitive performance and Alzheimer's Disease (AD) biomarkers.

17th World Korean Day National Merit Award Ceremony: "Somang Society" Receives Presidential Commendation

At the government awards ceremony held to commemorate the 17th International Korean Day, Honorary Chairman Go Seok-hwa of the Bank of Hope received the National Merit of the Moran Medal, and Chairman Lee Yong-gi of the Andrew & Elizabeth Christian Foundation were was awarded the National Merit of the Magnolia Medal. Additionally, the Somang Society and the Korean-American Association of Los Angeles were included in the list of recipients of the Presidential Commendation.


Somang Society is a CARE Community Partner.

Caregiver Spotlight: Urmila's Story


This was seven years before his death that he wanted to go to India. When we reached India, he asked me, “Where am I?”  I told him that we are in India, but he said, “I don’t want to be here… This is not India...I want to go back today"
