Upcoming Events

Sunday, April 27, 2025 @ 10:00am - 5:00pm PST

San Jose Japantown

640 N. 5th St. San Jose, CA 95112

47th Annual Nikkei Matsuri

Since 1978, the Nikkei Matsuri Festival has showcased the contributions and cultural achievements of the Japanese American community. Nikkei Matsuri’s origin began with the City of San Jose’s 1977 Bicentennial Celebration, Issei Legacy, which was an event that coordinated over thirty Japanese American cultural groups and associations. For the past 46 years, the all-volunteer Nikkei Matsuri Committee has worked to share and preserve the culture and heritage of the Japanese American traditions through the presentation of food, arts and crafts, performing arts, demonstrations, and cultural exhibits in the heart of historic San Jose Japantown.

CARE Registry and Yu-Ai Kai will be tabling at this event, so don't forget to stop by!

Yu-Ai Kai is a CARE Registry community partner.

CARE in the News

2025 COFACC Annual Strategic Planning

Conference & Small Business Expo

On Saturday, January 25th, the CARE team had an amazing time attending the 2025 COFACC Annual Strategic Planning Conference & Small Business Expo. The event, hosted by the Coalition of Filipino American Chambers of Commerce (COFACC)β€”a national organization representing 48 chambers of commerce across the U.S.β€”was both engaging and productive. It was a fantastic opportunity for CARE Registry outreach, allowing us to connect with the Filipino-American community nationwide in a meaningful way.

Thank you, COFACC, for inviting us to be part of this incredible event! We truly appreciate the chance to collaborate and engage with such a vibrant community.

Korean American Community Services

ο»ΏFirst Full Moon Festival

The CARE team attended the Korean American Community Services (KACS) First Full Moon Festival on February 14, 2025. The event was filled with vibrant energy, featuring live performances, including ukulele, line dancing, and a traditional Korean drum performance (Jangu). There was also a knitting exhibition, raffle drawings, community resource tables, and delicious Korean food, including bibimbap!

Many people showed interest in the CARE Registry, and we were excited to share our goal of amplifying the voices of AANHPIs in research. A big thank you to KACS for hosting us and to everyone who attended to show their support for the community!

Lunar New Year Event at

Blanca Alvarado Community Resource Center

On February 15th, the CARE team joined the Santa Clara Family Health Plan (SCFHP) for their 4th Annual Lunar New Year Celebration at the Blanca Alvarado Community Resource Center.

We enjoyed vibrant cultural performances, including the lion dance, and fun family activities like Zumba, raffles, and a fashion show. We had a great time connecting with so many wonderful people and resource tables! Thank you, SCFHP, for hosting this amazing event, and to everyone who stopped by our table to learn more about CARE Registry!

CARE Ambassador Program

The CARE Ambassador program is a volunteer opportunity by the CARE Registry, open to high school students, college students, and recent undergrad graduates. Working as a CARE Ambassador will foster new learning experiences involving hosting virtual events, in-person tabling, and more depending on your capacity.

Caregiver Spotlight:

Encarnacion and Danilo's Story

In the beginning, they would hurt us, others, or themselves, but it is necessary to love/accept them wholly. As a result, our patients’ attitudes/behaviors changed; our social worker believed we upheld/exceeded the standards of caregiving.
