Welcome to the year of the Wood Dragon. There is more information on this theme for you to utilize if you feel compelled. Another association to the Wood Dragon is Pine. That has a few connotations.
You may wish to increase your connection to Pine this year, through scented candles, air fresheners, essential oil or plant essences. An even more potent choice would be sitting under Pine trees when possible. Pines are acknowledged to be among the very best of trees to help with negativity. They simply help you feel better. Gaze at the pattern of the bark, or if you are looking at pine boards, any patterns in the knots on the boards. It is possible to receive information or to activate memories from them. I draw your attention to Pine's unique shade of green that is particularly comforting this time of year when nature's color palette seems more subdued.
There is also another connection to keep in mind. The shape of the tree and its cone is associated with the Pineal gland. Meditation on that as an activation force for your Pineal gland may also be particularly effective this year. Remember that the underlying energy of this entire Year of the Wood Dragon is beneficial in the extreme. Don't give credence to the “Dragons are bad” messages in some cultures, religions, and literature.
ASTROLOGY FORECAST
(Feb 17 - 22)
There are no planets in retrograde motion now. This lends a purity and strength to our endeavors.
The SUN moves into Pisces on 2/18 at 11:13 pm, joining Saturn and Neptune which will form a stellium for all of this year's solar transit through Pisces.
This next 4 weeks will be a good time to give attention to, and/or initiate any dreams you have been meaning to create. The more mystical and esoteric they seem the more the energies will support you. Saturn is present to bring order and structure to things that seem out of the ordinary. Soon to follow are 2 Eclipses in March and April while the Sun and Moon are in Aries, the renewal of another cycle. Now is the time to feel and receive from a fuller realm of possibility. The Solar flares are peaking in 2024. That streams new information into our perceptions. One thing I put my attention on with Solar, Neptune, and Pisces energies is calling upon Omega Light. We have all been bathed in Alpha Light for a very long time. We are seeking balance, and these are corridors that are vibrant conduits through which to attract and receive a balancing Omega Light.
As various aspects form between planets, asteroids, and fixed stars there are 2 terms that are used to describe those relationships. They are “applying” or “separating.” (These are included on your natal chart off to the right of the column that highlights your planetary aspects.) It describes the basic bell curve. The associated flavor of energy created will increase gradually while the aspect is “applying”, or approaching. There will come a point of direct conjunction, or a peak angle when the strength or influence of the aspect peaks. Thereafter it will remain within the arc of influence for a while, depending on the orbital speed of both heavenly bodies or mathematical points. That is when it is said to be “separating.”
Asteroid CHIRON is directly conjunct the Moon's NORTH NODE on 2/19. This has been active since last year, starting in September, when they moved within each other’s range. They will stay within the arc of conjunction until June.
CHIRON has been a prominent influence for the last year. This has been clearly mirrored in our world events and personal lives. I spoke of CHIRON last December:
“This Sagittarian Centaur is an asteroid with comet-like qualities in orbit out by Saturn and Uranus. It is considered very important in an astrological chart.
In mythology, CHIRON is called the “wounded healer.” His wounds were two-fold. Rejected at birth by both parents, and then fatally wounded at the end of life accidentally. In spite of a difficult beginning Chiron was gifted in healing, arts, science, and strategy. He was skilled and very willing to teach.
He represents wounds that are not necessarily self inflicted, such as generational and cultural. This is an area where you can be your own healer rather than waiting for another to do it for you. You can transmute pain into wisdom to heal a wound in a way that only you can accomplish. CHIRON in the chart indicates how you might succeed, and is willing to teach you how. Meditation on this could help a great deal.
Chiron in Aries has helped us become aware of triggers and/or wounds we've had since childhood. They may very easily be holdovers in our DNA from other times and places.The very personal Aries transit has hopefully helped you hone in on some clues to self healing.
We are in the late middle stages of the CHIRON transit through Aries, (2018-2027.) Examples of Chiron inspired incite for Aries traits: the proper release of anger, self knowledge, self expression without bullying or arrogance, quelling war-like tendencies, and, perhaps, the most important of all, don't turn anger inward, thus attacking the self.”
CHIRON directly conjunct the NORTH NODE affords us the opportunity to incorporate our precious soul assets into the equation. The North Node is our focal point for our wishes and aspirations for soul development during this lifetime, the talents and soul attributes we came into this lifetime with. CHIRON is the wound begging to be healed.
At this time you will have guidance and energetic assistance to pack lightly for the Aquarian Age. The baggage of your soul's journey can be discarded, transformed to a lighter load, assigned to the annals of the Akashic records - NO LONGER YOURS TO BEAR! Be bold. Walk into that spiritual plane with no checked baggage- carry on only. May you carry your Godspeed with instead!
ASTROLOGY FORECAST
(Feb 23 - 29)
LILITH shifts her habitual 2 sign dance from Virgo/Leo to Virgo/Libra on 2/20. She has spent many months flowing from Virgo back to Leo, and forward to Virgo again. Now that shifts to flowing forward into Libra and backward toward Virgo. This pattern between these 2 signs will last through the end of September.
The Lilith dance in Leo has put a spotlight on self empowerment, ego (healthy or not), leadership qualities as they pertain to the suppressed feminine part of your soul. Has she risen, ready to take on a more prominent role in your daily expression? Has that caused any disruption in your relationships? It may very well have done so. The Aquarian Age, and the corresponding rise of the feminine, encourages this necessary balance. It may not be easy because we are upsetting an apple cart (male dominance) that has prevailed for multiple ages. LILITH gives you the impetus to move toward this balance while in Leo.
Now she will dance between Virgo and Libra. The flare of power that Leo assisted will settle into a sacred, eternal flame level. The detail oriented Virgo will now lend its assistance toward the divine, judicious balance that is a hallmark of Libra expression. The settling effect will vary among individuals, but can be experienced by all who consent to allow and receive it over the next 7 months. Our pigeonholed expression of both masculine and feminine is morphing into a greater variety. The next age is going to promote a different picture. LILITH will influence this shift throughout the coming years.
MERCURY moves into Pisces on 2/23 until 3/10. Pisces is a
watery, mystical sign that is less comfortable for mental Mercury. However, there is a solution. Let your dreamy, happy, imagination prevail. You imagine and dream first, then you experience the physical event or object materialized into your reality. Use this to your advantage. Concentrate on positive, widely beneficial outcomes. I stress win/win scenarios because that is what Pisces likes. Dwell in your happy place. NOW, Mercury is going to want details and steps to take. Avoid this if you can. Tell this little planet to bide its time. It will have plenty of mental marching steps when it moves on into fiery Aries next month. This time is for your fantastic imagination. Have fun!
There is a stellium in Pisces to help with your endeavors. The Pisces stellium is the Sun, Mercury, Saturn, and Neptune. A stellium strengthens all the planets in any sign. They become a team. Also remember that team Aquarius is still active with the Venus, Mars, Pluto stellium right behind. We have two teams of planets in the signs completing the zodiac cycle. Faith and trust is well placed here. What is meant for us will not pass us by - if we consent to allow and receive. This is all still in play for this month's Full Moon.
The next day, 2/24, is a FULL MOON in Virgo. A Full Moon is when the Sun and Moon are opposite each other in their orbits, and on the zodiac wheel. This month's line up of planets forms what is called a “bucket.” Just like the bundle of the last New Moon, but this time the Moon is opposite the bundle forming a handle. This indicates a single minded drive toward achieving a goal. The bucket planet or, in this case, Moon indicates the direction of the energies.
Virgo is less comfortable for the Moon. The details and precision that makes Virgo happy makes the Moon's eyes roll! Well, in this instance the prevailing energies of Pisces and Aquarius on the opposite side will prevail. Perhaps Virgo's contribution can be to hint at a path forward for new things with a “details to follow” flavor. A good bet might be to remember that this particular Full Moon might best be used to firmly set some intentions. That is the first step. The next Full Moon in March is a Lunar Eclipse. That will give you all the impetus you need for the next steps. This is a good example of the swing from mental and emotional, planning and implementing, that the zodiac energies promote. They allow you a flowing pattern, just like the winds, ripples and waves, solar winds, of nature and space. Nothing is a rigid line or shape. Everything has an ebb and flow.
Next month and April are the first 2 Eclipses of 2024. A Lunar on 3/25 followed by a Solar on 4/8. The Solar Eclipse on April 8th is very exciting for us. In New York we have a rare opportunity to be within the “ring of fire” totality. I urge you to order your eclipse glasses now if you don't already have them. I mentioned the terms applying and separating last week. We are separating from the difficult squares between the outer planets of the last 6 years. We are within, or are applying toward trines between the outer planets now. There is also the migration of Pluto into Aquarius that highlights almost this entire year. All of this will help us find our GRACE.
