Active Transportation Plan
The City of Barberton continues to have success in developing an active transportation plan to increase the safety, usability, and awareness of many ways people travel to their destinations in and around town. The steering committee met in May to develop a map that identifies important destinations in Barberton that would benefit from increased accessibility by walking, rolling, or bicycling. Look out for upcoming community engagement events so you can take a look at the map and add your destinations and feedback!

The month of June has lots of holidays to celebrate active transportation.
June 3rd is World Bicycle Day! Celebrate by riding your bike to work, around your neighborhood or on a trail to celebrate.
Need to borrow a bicycle? Check one out through the Summit Bike Share Program!
June 4th is National Trails Day! Take a walk, run or roll on the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail or at a Summit Metro Park to celebrate. Don’t forget to bring your family, friends, and four-legged companions!
