The Feeling of Family Through JRA

Hi, I am your 2025-2026 Junior Red Angus Queen, Taylor Moore. I wanted to discuss the topic of family within the Red Angus Association. It is so much more than just a breed association; the Red Angus Association of America (RAAA) is a true community. When you decide to raise, show, or simply champion Red Angus cattle, you’re not just picking a breed; you’re joining the Red Angus Family. This sense of belonging is a cornerstone of the breed, shaping not only how we conduct business but how we support one another, inside and outside the show ring.

For young people, and me, this family feeling is the most powerful through programs like the Junior Red Angus Association (JRA) and the annual Red Angus Youth Expo (RAYE). These events are the heart of the Red Angus junior experience, transforming what could be just a competition into a deeply meaningful annual reunion. I always wanted a sense of community with others. When I started showing red angus, I quickly realized that this is where I would find those people who cared and supported me the way young kids, teens, and adults deserve.
