EEA HAPPENINGS:

SEPTEMBER 2023

WHY SAY GOODBYE TO OUR BRIGHTEST SEASON?

WELCOME TO A MOST UPLIFTING ART EXHIBITION, Endless Summer, featuring works by SoFo artist Susan Cushing and NoFo artist Franklin Hill Perrell. Visitors can prepare to be engulfed in happy-making paintings and festive happenings guaranteed to keep the spirit of summer alive.

While Cushing and Perrell have differences of subject and handling, they share the view that art can be a vehicle for bettering the world, and they weigh in on the bright side of all they see. The vehicle through which they convey these attitudes through art is simple and powerful: pure strong color.

Endless Summer strives to evoke the joys of the East End's most precious season. Take a break from the ordinary and step into their painted paradise!

A NEW COLLABORATION TO CULTIVATE YOUNG WRITERS

FLANDER'S PHILLIPS AVENUE STUDENTS are the first group to benefit from the East End Arts - Southampton Youth Bureau collaborative program 2Rs4fun!, an enriching after-school creative writing initiative aimed at nurturing the creative potential and literary prowess of 3rd and 4th grade students. Initiated in 2008 by retired teacher Mary Dwyer in the Shelter island School District, 2Rs4fun! was designed to foster an enriching love for reading and writing. This new iteration honors her memory and kicks off on Monday, October 2, 2023.

A great program comes from great mentors, and we need you! Anyone interested in volunteering as a 2Rs4fun! Mentor should apply here or contact us for more details.
