Dear Families of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School,
This Wednesday, January 17th, begins our re-enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year. To prepare for this, the School Finance Committee and School Advisory Committee have worked to carefully assess the budget and expenses while establishing next year’s tuition and fees. I am so grateful for their expertise and their dedication to our school and our families. Please read the attached letter with information regarding next year’s tuition and fees. We look forward to our Dolphins returning next year and wish all the best to our 8th grade students who are busily preparing to register for high school! On Wednesday the 6th grade boys basketball team defeated Regis 17-16.
Dolphins Basketball next week:
1/17/24: St Anthony of Padua will host Epiphany Catholic School. JV Boys at 4:30 PM, Varsity Boys at 5:30 PM and Varsity Girls at 6:30 PM.
1/19/24: The boys and girls teams will travel to Trinity Klein Lutheran School and take on the Eagles. C-Team Boys at 4:30 PM, JV Boys at 5:30 PM, Varsity Girls at 6:30 PM and Varsity Boys at 7:30 PM.

COLD WEATHER APPAREL REMINDER
As the weather turns cooler, please remember that only St. Anthony of Padua outerwear (from Risse or Squadlocker) may be worn in the classrooms. Hoodies are not allowed in classrooms. Any jackets / coats may be worn outside or to and from school, but must remain stored in lockers or cubbies during the school day.

NURSE NOTES
For 1/8/24-1/12/24:
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas break. Right before our return to school we started hearing chatter of COVID in the area. We’ve experienced more flu and stomach virus this year than COVID and I am praying we fare well with minimal COVID cases. We are encouraging parents to closely monitor their children for COVID symptoms if they are not feeling well. If there is a thought/concern it could be COVID, we encourage testing (can be home test) to prevent further spread and student absences.
5th Grade: One reported case of COVID
8th Grade: One suspected case of strep throat (treated as strep)
As a reminder: We do have students with chronic medical conditions that can be more affected by illness. We cannot protect them from all illness, but please keep these students in mind if your child is sick and may be contagious. Students must be fever free for 24 hours (without fever reducing medication) before returning to school. Students must remain home for 24 hours after vomiting and be able to keep food/liquids down before returning to school.
Please report any specific diagnosis to Mrs. Pavlock or Attendance.

Steps for Students is an annual event benefitting all Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Galveston- Houston. Over the last 18 years, this exciting day of family fun has brought together our Catholic community for a sunrise Mass, sanctioned 5K race and a post-race party in the Catholic School Village. Our school is serving coffee & donuts at Fellowship Sunday on Sunday, Jan. 14th. We need families to help serve for our parish community after 7:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Masses. This is a great way to earn Paduan Points and partner with our parish! Students may volunteer but must have a parent or responsible adult in attendance to supervise.
