Dear Families of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School,

Happy Summer! I hope your family is enjoying the start of summer! In this Addendum to last week’s End of Year Messenger, I want to share some information about our End of Year NWEA testing and staffing for next year. I am so proud of how well our students did on the end of year testing. Our students exceeded the national percentiles at every grade level in every test. We also exceeded the Archdiocesan percentiles at every grade level and subject except for two that were at the same score. Our Reading and Math percentiles were above the national and Archdiocesan percentiles at every grade. Your students and teachers worked so hard and we couldn’t be proud of the results!

Also, now that some final contracts have been signed this week, I can share some staff changes for next year. As you can see from the information below, when openings arise, we have the opportunity to make adjustments that celebrate and utilize the strengths and passions of our teachers. This can sometimes feel like a complex game of chess, but it ultimately benefits our students and school community. This is the current plan for our faculty and staff for 2024-2025.

  • Mrs. Patricia Tamez retired at the end of this year. We are so grateful for her many years of service to our school and hope she enjoys joining her husband in retirement! Mrs. Esdely Velazco will join Mrs. Salinas in Pre-K3 next year.
  • Mrs. Regina Reinecke will be moving on and pursuing some of her passions related to the world of fitness and nutrition while juggling daughters in college, high school and middle school. She did such a fantastic job in Pre-K4 and we are grateful she will still be around as “Harper’s Mom”. 😊 Miss Maria Barreto will join Mrs. Barrow in Pre-K4.
  • Mrs. Katherine Naeher has accepted an administrative position at St. Rose of Lima for next year. Join us in thanking her for her dedication to St. Anthony and congratulating her on this exciting next step in her career. Mrs. Emily de Aragao will move from the PACE Department to teach 4th grade English Language Arts and Social Studies. She has been our Elementary Reading Support Teacher the past two years and comes with a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the area of Reading Intervention. Mrs. Brooke Reyes will join our PACE Team working with our elementary students. She has years of experience in public and Catholic schools including working with student support at St. Lawrence Catholic School.
  • Mrs. Becky Fagan will move from 5th grade to 4th grade Math, Religion and Science. Mrs. Fagan has many years in education with a strong background in Math. She even used to edit math textbooks! She is excited to work with our 4th grade mathematicians and scientists. Ms. Terri Burnette will move from the PACE Department to 5th grade ELA and Social Studies. She looks forward to partnering with Mrs. Felchak to serve our 5th grade students.
  • Mrs. Martha Insignares will be leaving Middle School Math to find a job closer to home. We are excited for her to be closer to her grandchildren. Mrs. Mikayla Gambertoglio is transitioning to Middle School Math! Certified in Math through 8th grade, she is excited to start working with the "big kids." We are eager to see her excel in this new role!
  • Mrs. Sarah Turner has accepted an administrative position at St. Ambrose Catholic School for next year. We are grateful for her years of service to our middle school students. While we will miss her, we are excited for this wonderful opportunity for her! Mrs. Clarissa Montgomery, a parishioner and experienced teacher from Conroe ISD and Bryan ISD, will join our Middle School team focusing on English and Writing.
  • Mrs. Lori Welch was our part-time Elementary Technology Teacher this past year. We are so grateful she stepped in to fill this position this past year. She will continue to be present in our community as a Paduan Parent. Mr. Joey Scale will return in this role and as our Middle School Band teacher.
  • Finally, Mrs. Julie Cooper will return to being a full-time Mom this next year as she enters the world of high school parenting. She will continue to support our school as a Paduan Parent volunteer! 😊 Mrs. Leigh Moorman is returning to St. Anthony of Padua to support our Administrative and Advancement Departments. Welcome back, Mrs. Moorman!

Please note that no plan is ever perfect, so there may still be some changes prior to the start of the school year. We will communicate updates as they become finalized. Rest assured, every decision we make as administration is guided by the best interests of our students and the mission of our school. Have a wonderful summer break.

PADUAN PARENTS & VOLUNTEERING

ROOM PARENT & PADUAN PARENT LEADERSHIP

We encourage all parents and guardians to volunteer as a Room Parent or Paduan Parent Champions during the 2024-2025 school year. This is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to your child’s classroom, experience your child’s interactions with teachers and peers, and most of all, see the pride in your child’s face when you are there to share special times with their class. If you are interested in this fun and rewarding opportunity, please let us know at the volunteer interest form below. We will contact individual Room Parents & Paduan Parent Champions about assignments once the school year begins.
