🌾 The harvest is in.

Twenty-five years ago, Dr. Rodrigue Mortel walked onto a plot of dirt in Saint Marc, Haiti, with a drawing and a dream. Last month, we saw what that dream has grown into.

March was a full month for this community. We watched students in Haiti and across the United States serve their neighbors on Good Samaritan Day, we came together for a sold-out Celebration of Hope, and had the chance to share the stories of people whose lives were changed forever by this mission.

Here's a look at everything that happened, and how you can be part of what comes next.

RECENT HIGHLIGHTS

A Celebration of Hope

On March 21, supporters packed Englewood Hershey for a sold-out Celebration of Hope - and this year, the night carried extra weight.

We celebrated 25 years of Les Bons Samaritains (LBS) school and heard powerful stories from LBS alumni whose lives are proof of what this mission makes possible.

The community showed up with incredible generosity - raising $50,000 and welcoming 10 new student sponsors in a single evening.

As President Denise Mortel Mitchell shared, "This is the soil we are planting in now."

More Than a Checkup

Dr. Kevin Murphy came to Haiti as a dentist - treating infections, pulling teeth, doing what needed to be done. Then he met Dr. Mortel, and he saw the difference between treating a child and helping one grow. That encounter changed everything. Years after his last trip, he's still showing up.

Brooke traveled to Saint Marc in 2018 as a teenager on a week-long service trip. She ended up stranded for 11 days as riots broke out across the country. She came home with a completely different definition of success - and she's been turning that experience into action ever since.

A NOTE OF REMEMBRANCE

We want to take a moment to share some sad news. Dinah, Dr. Mortel's beloved sister, passed away peacefully at the age of 96.

She was a steady, joyful presence at the schools for decades - the kind of person who made everyone feel immediately at home. For so many who traveled to Saint Marc, she truly was the heart of that place.

We take comfort knowing she and Dr. Mortel are together again.
