AUGUST 25, 2026

As school-year routines settle in, it’s easy for our calendars to fill before we’ve made room for the things that keep us grounded. In the days ahead, there are opportunities at LHUMC to slow down, invest in the relationships that matter most, gather with your church family, and care for our neighbors. We hope you’ll find a meaningful way to join in.

THIS WEEK

MEN’S TUESDAY NIGHT BASKETBALL

Every Tuesday | 8 to 9:30 p.m. | Great Hall

Men are invited to join us Tuesday evenings for basketball, friendly competition, and fellowship. Whether you’re a regular player or simply looking for a fun way to get moving and connect with others, come play when you can and bring a friend. Open to LHUMC members and friends.

HOLY COMMUNION & CONTEMPLATIVE PRAYER

Wednesdays through September 2 | 6:30 p.m. | Chapel

Join us on Wednesday evenings for a quiet service of Holy Communion and contemplative prayer. This weekly service offers space to slow down, pray, and experience God’s presence in the middle of the week.

BETTER TOGETHER: A MARRIAGE WORKSHOP

Sunday, August 30 | 3 to 6 p.m. | Sanctuary

Invest in your marriage with an afternoon designed to help couples strengthen their connection and grow together. The cost is $40 per couple, and childcare is available with advance registration.

ALL-CHURCH SUPPER

Sunday, August 30 | 6 to 7 p.m. | Fellowship Hall

Come to the table with your LHUMC family! Join us for an easy evening of fellowship across generations as we enjoy pizza, salad, and dessert together.

Dinner is $5 per person, and all are welcome. Please RSVP so we can plan for you.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

CELEBRATING THE BAPTISM OF JUDE JAMESON CASTLE

This past Sunday, we joyfully celebrated the baptism of Jude Jameson Castle, son of Rev. Colton Castle and his wife Jordan. What a gift to surround Jude and his family with our love and prayers as we welcomed him into the family of faith!

WAYS TO SERVE

VOLUNTEER IN CHILDREN'S SUNDAY SCHOOL

Our Children’s Ministry is looking for a few caring adults to help make Sunday mornings safe, welcoming, and meaningful for our kids. Whether you prefer supporting behind the scenes or leading a small group, there’s a role that fits your availability and comfort level.

BE AN EXTRA SET OF EYES

Help keep classrooms running smoothly during Sunday School by being present, attentive, and supportive. No teaching or preparation is required, only your presence and care. Serving even once in a while makes a big difference.

LEAD A CHILDREN'S SMALL GROUP

Leading a small group is simple and impactful. You’ll guide a brief discussion using questions we provide, then close with prayer (no prep needed). A commitment of just two or three Sundays per semester helps create consistency and community for our kids.
