Summer is here, and there is plenty happening at LHUMC. Keep reading for photos from Vacation Bible School, opportunities to serve, and upcoming events in the life of our church.

THIS WEEK

VBS 2026 IS UNDERWAY!

Vacation Bible School is in full swing at LHUMC! This week, more than 300 children are taking on the Snowball Mountain Challenge as they discover what it means to find their strength in God.

Through crafts, discovery, recreation, music, and rally sessions filled with singing and dancing, kids are exploring this week's theme and discovering that God's strength is with them through every challenge. The week's memory verse, Philippians 4:13, reminds us: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Kids are also having fun with themed dress-up days throughout the week, including Tuesday's festive "Christmas in June" celebration.

WAYS TO SERVE

HELP PROVIDE A WARM BREAKFAST AT AUSTIN STREET CENTER

For more than 30 years, LHUMC has partnered with Austin Street Center to provide a warm breakfast and a welcoming presence for our neighbors experiencing homelessness. Join us June 20-21 by donating food, helping prepare breakfast, or serving our neighbors. Sign up today to be part of this long-standing ministry.

VOLUNTEER AT MAD CAMP

Join us June 22-26 as we welcome children to MAD Camp. Volunteers are needed to help with activities, support camp staff, and provide a safe, fun environment for our campers. No experience is required, and even a few hours can make a big difference.

FILL THE FEED LAKE HIGHLANDS FOOD PANTRY

Feed Lake Highlands is a nonprofit ministry serving neighbors across Lake Highlands by providing food and support to families experiencing food insecurity.

You can support Feed Lake Highlands by donating items to their food pantry. Most-needed items include cereal, canned tuna, chicken, or meat, mac & cheese, pasta sauce (no glass jars), toilet paper, and brown paper bags.

Serving on the Sunday hospitality team
Volunteering with children during Sunday School
Contributing diapers and baby essentials to Seeds of Support or serving as a childcare worker during their Friday morning classes
