The CSL Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that we have begun the process of re-opening our Center for assembly gathering Sunday, June 14th. Please join us at 10:30 am at 10464 W. Garverdale Court, Boise, ID.
Because it's a phased approach, our building and service won't look like it was the last time you were here. We will be following the guidelines set forth by the CDC, State of Idaho, City of Boise and our insurance carrier.
We have been carefully monitoring the COVID-19 numbers in Boise and throughout our state and we feel confident that this is the time to come back together in our building for Sunday Services. We are exploring re-opening timelines for the other activities that take place in our building and will be releasing information on that very soon.
Our number one priority remains the safety and health of our entire congregation. We ask that if you aren't feeling well, please stay home and watch the service on Facebook Live. If you aren't comfortable being around other people yet, we completely understand and support you in your decision to stay home and watch the service on Facebook Live or the video later in the day.
What you need to know for Sunday Service during the Pandemic era:
1. Entrance will be through the front doors only
2. You must be free from fever, cough and/or sore throat and have not been in
contact with anyone exposed to or active with COVID-19 in the last three weeks.
3. A Face Mask must be worn at all times when you are not in your seat.
(
You may
remove your mask while seated, but it must be worn at all times when out of your seat)
4. Sanitize your hands when entering the building
5. Practice Social Distancing with 6 feet between individuals
6. No hugging or handshaking; no singing, unison speaking or dancing
7. Access to Sanctuary and Bathrooms only
8. No hospitality will be served after service
9. No Youth Church services at this time
(children are invited to sit with their parents in Church)
10. No meditation before service
11. No in-person prayer after service in the Prayer Room
(you can still CALL a Practitioner
for prayer at ANY time you need it or fill out a Prayer Request Form at church or at CSLBoise.org!)
12. Sanctuary seating available for 88 people with appropriate distancing between chairs
13. The camera is set up in the center of the room. Please be careful of the wires
14. Please take all personal items and exit the building after service. Sorry, no lingering
or gathering - (
Join us at 11:45 am on the ZOOM call for hospitality-no masks needed!)
We know how difficult and oddly strange it is following these new mandated rules and processes. They are designed to keep us ALL safe and healthy and eventually, they may slowly be lifted. Please join us this Sunday if you feel called to come to church in the building. (Because we know church is everywhere!) We look forward to seeing your beautiful faces and sharing in your wonderful energy in our Sanctuary once again!

Happy Father’s Day!
Beloved Community:
American Poet Anne Sexton wrote, “It doesn’t matter who my father was; it matters who I remember he was.”
Sunday is the day we celebrate the fathers we remember – and the men who fathered us – be they our biological male parent; or a guy who helped you wrestle with growing, living and understanding.
I had a very tumultuous relationship with my own emotionally distant father until he unexpectedly died when I was 17. But today, I can look back and thank him for the encouragement he gave his five daughters to be the best people we could be. I am grateful for the limits he set and for setting high expectations of excellence which have served me well over my lifetime. Perhaps the thing for which I am most grateful is that he was the perfect example of persistence in the face of difficulty and hardship as we were growing up. No matter how impossible things may have appeared, my Dad taught us to never give up! I am who I am today because of my Dad and the expectations he had for me. I now understand that my Dad did the best he could. Happy Heavenly Father’s Day to my Daddy, Sgt. Jack Holland. And we honor and express gratitude to all the Fathers in our congregation for the love and support they give to the children in our church and the world. Thank you!
Richest Blessings!

Today Is For The Fathers
Author Unknown
It is for the grandfathers, uncles, brothers, friends and sons. For the most important man in anyone’s life – the one who gave us life.
Here’s to you – the dads who play endless games of
Go Fish
with their kids and always let them win – and those who always played to win every time thinking that their children would grow stronger through defeat.
This is for the fathers who worked in fields and factories, taught in classrooms or sat in office cubicles eight long hours a day. Here’s to those who performed life-saving surgery and those who drove their truck through long days and nights.
Here’s to those who loved every minute of their labor and to those who only worked so their families could survive.
To the sleepless Dads who have waited in silent fear that their babies wouldn’t make it through the night, or their teenagers survive their first time driving alone.
Those who lost children, and those who found them in different ways.
Here’s to tears not shed and hugs not given for fear of appearing weak.
Here’s to Dads who build with hammer and saw – and those who wouldn’t know how – the fathers who are afraid of spiders – and yet can slay the great dragon of fear in his little ones.
The fathers who tried and those who didn’t. The fathers who gave us life and walked away – and those who stayed long past the life of their marriage to give something to the children.
The fathers who hurt because their children have been kept from them – and those who are both father and mother.
Stay-at-home dads and stay-away dads, the one we wanted but never knew.
The helpless, hurting father and the brave, strong one. . .
And for all the ways of fatherhood – Here’s to you.

"There is a place in everyone where this Power abides in Its fullness. You are merely distributing it. We have a parallel law for this in physics. We catch the power from the waterfall, we do not create it. We call this generating it. We transform it then, do we not, into a mechanical energy, and then we distribute it. We direct it for light and heat and motive power. In one place it runs a street car, in another it heats an electric flatiron. The power already existed, we are merely using it."

Meaning – in the Midst of Change
-
Jean Crumb
Nov. 1977
How often we fear changes: a new place,
a new way of doing things, new persons!
And yet, over and over, we are shown
that in the new place,
The new way of doing things
becomes a new delight,
And we find that we are surrounded
by people who care.
Why then, do we fear the Unknown?
Has not that which was once unknown
been that which expanded our horizons
and given zest and meaning to our life?
And when we look back, do we not chronicle
our life by the changes??
|
|
Could it be that all our changes
and all our unknowns
Are not really dark valleys, but, instead,
are more like foothills,
Whose top we reach only to discover
a greater peak beyond? In the midst of change,
Love is our Comforter.
For though we want much,
our hearts are filled as we receive
the love that is given to us,
And to pass it on is our calling.
We give our love and our time,
and as we give – we live.
Do we not find that the more we give,
the more we are truly at home
with Love Eternal?
We each have a Destiny:
To anticipate Good in the unknown,
To see meaning in the midst of change,
To BE, today, a part of all Eternity.
(Written shortly after we moved to Boise for my mother who was dying.)

Father's Day: Honoring our Dads
|
|
June brings graduation and Father's Day, a time when we reflect on the advice of teachers and fathers. I learned a lot from my dad and my father-in-law.
My father, Paul Kleibrink, found his passion in 1952, when he discovered computers. This passion was so all-consuming that he couldn't help but share it with those around him. I remember he enthusiastically explained the binary system to me when I was seven. That's great dad, I thought, but what I really want to know is what is 9 + 6?
My father retired from IBM after 40 years, but he is still passionate about computers. Now he teaches other seniors how to use computers. If he wanted to, he could charge for it, but he does it for free, because he loves it.
Before I graduated college, my father gave me the best career advice of all "It's your life. Live it how you want to live it, not how you think others want you to. Do what excites you the most."

Focusing on this moment, we recognize there is but one divine Spirit, one magnificent Universe, one creative Power. This one Mind is all knowing and pure, beautiful, unconditional LOVE!
Right where we are, GOD is! This divine Spirit of Love flows through EVERYTHING seen and unseen. We are ALL divine, perfect, whole, magnificent manifestations of God here on this earthly plane, connected to God, connected to one another. Spirit surrounds us, comes through us, in us and as us.
As we begin this summer, we allow our authentic, true selves to shine through for all to see and experience. We are fearless as we remember our oneness with the Divine, giving us strength to know our true selves, have confidence in who we are and share that with the world. For together, we are God multiplied! And our love permeates this Universe!
|
|
My heart is overflowing with joy and gratefulness in knowing this truth.
I release it into the Law and allow it to take hold and already be so.
And so it is!
