Minister's Message
Beloved Community:

What a week!  We all found ourselves in an odd, new reality. Life as we knew it changed forever.  But we made it through, stronger and greater than ever. Our first on-line Church Service is now under our belt, and we all learned so much! We are deeply grateful to Practitioner and Camera-person: Donna Sheedy, Deborah Whitman , RScP , Cheryl Hudon, Thomas O’Roarke, our music team with Lisa Bittick, Ted McClurg, Phil Bowden and Ed Kuklinski and everyone who helped make our service so successful. We ask you to please stay home in your pj’s this week and join us at 10:30 am on Facebook Live or watch the video replay later in the day!

I think that many of us are searching for solid ground right now. Everything seems surreal and we are leaning how to just “be” in this new reality.  There are times during the day when I think I have found that solid footing and just as many moments when I just feel lost and alone. There is so much unsettled and uncertain right now and we spiritual leaders are dealing with our own anxieties.  Anxiety is an out of control thought pattern. It feeds on what-ifs and worst-case scenarios.  Many times this week, I had to fight my own negative thoughts… What if the Coronavirus is unstoppable; How will the church survive financially if this goes on for too long? Can I do this? What wisdom and guidance do I have to offer?

We know that what we focus on must/will come into manifestation in our experience.  I believe that our anxiety and worry is unyielding tied to what we are devoted to.   Are we devoted to negativity, lack of faith, and worry? Or can we place our attention and devotion on Trust, Faith, Belief and Wholeness? I have been thinking a lot about where I placed my devotion in the past and how that is shifting, thanks to this thing called pandemic.

Here are a few things that became clear to me this week. Perhaps they might help you as we navigate this unprecedented time together.

(1) My brain doesn’t seem to be working as well as usual. Research shows that stress messes with our sequencing and ordering our thoughts can be difficult. I invite you to limit the time you spend checking the news and focus on what and who is right in front of you. Pause several times daily to allow Spirit to reveal what is yours to do in the moment. You don’t have to know everything because God knows and is control anyway! I learned that I can let go and trust Universal Intelligence to guide and direct me.

(2) I learned that I don’t have to do everything right now. In fact, mental health experts suggest that we should be doing LESS right now. We can all do about 50-75% of what we did before this crisis hit. Give yourself time to adjust.  Let extra, unnecessary things fall away and streamline what you can. Do less, but also be open to doing things differently. Adapt and pivot.  Be as nimble as you can. Trust your Inner Knower to guide and direct you as you make your way through these uncharted waters.

(3) Spiritual practices and rituals for self care are critically important during this time.  Meditate at the beginning and end of your day. Take long walks. Read, listen to music, write poetry. Reach out to others. Call family, friends and neighbors. Set up spiritual structures that will hold you through this time.

(4) And most of all,  p ray about it . Call your church and your practitioners to pray with you. At the first hint of an anxious thought, release it and replace it with the Spiritual Truth:  God is all there is. God and I are One. Everything is unfolding perfectly and I am right where I need to be, doing what is mine to do in co-partnership with the Great Creator. I am grateful and So It Is!

If you are feeling lost, that’s ok. I am lost with you as well. But together we will navigate through this time and learn and grow TOGETHER. Love is here and it is calling us to a deeper place of Oneness than ever before. Open your heart and allow Love’s presence to comfort and guide you.

Know that you are deeply loved by all of us at CSL Boise.

Guest Musician
Blaze & Kelly

These two talented singers and musicians are "fun and entertaining, soulful and real who communicate warmth and joy to their audience every time". (Dr. Viento, BSU). Voted Boise's "Most Busiest Band" by Boise Weekly, singer/songwriter, Niccole Blaze and her bassist, Mo Kelly, draw an audience with their compelling lyrics and angelic harmonies that audiences say "open your heart and tear it apart at the same time."

Join us on Facebook Live this Sunday at 10:30 a.m. for a very special service with the dynamic duo: Blaze & Kelly!
"The Universe is a spiritual system of complete consciousness, entire wholeness, the sum total of which is present everywhere. We are both scientifically and inspirationally, spiritually and philosophically in accord with the great intuitions, the spiritual revelations of all the ages, that have always announced that God is over all in all, through all and is all. There is not God and something else. There is only God and God is in everything, constituting the only Reality to anything that is, proclaiming Itself as all things, therefore, God knows things only as Itself."

Prayer of the Week
“Through the mist of human fear love gleams and points the way to freedom. …I know that there is One Power, and I know that this Power now protects me from all harm.” Ernest Holmes

There is one Spirit, one life, one universal maker of all things seen and unseen. This Creator is Love.

I am one with this Universal Presence, this powerful love, as are all those who are reading this prayer.

Our unity with the One Spirit gives love yet another conduit to all who have forgotten their connection with Spirit. Please affirm with me: We are a source of love, acceptance and peace to the world. We create loving encounters with all we meet, including those we interact with on social media. We allow Spirit to speak both to us and through us as we go about our day. We become listeners and speakers of the truth.

I am thankful for this deeper union with Spirit, manifesting through each of us as we open our hearts and say yes to all goodness.
Let us release our word unto the law, knowing it is done!

And so it is!
