English Worship Sunday at 11am

Roadside Mercy

Have you ever been stranded by the side of the road — helpless, watching others pass by? That’s exactly where Jesus met a blind man named Bartimaeus in Mark 10:46-52. Everyone else kept walking, but mercy stopped.

This Sunday, we’ll discover that gratitude is about far more than counting blessings. It’s about recognizing that mercy found us on the roadside — and now we can see clearly enough to follow Jesus wherever he leads. Join us this Sunday as we celebrate Thanksgiving together and give thanks to the One who stopped for us.

Weekly Offering

Over the past few years, our offering has been collected through plates at the front. Many have given faithfully this way, and we are thankful. As we’ve prayed and discussed, we believe it’s time to once again make the offering an intentional part of our Sunday Worship Service.

This allows us to remember together that giving is not simply about meeting a budget, but about worshipping God. The offering is an act of gratitude and obedience, just like serving in the Annex Cafe, praying with each other and singing each Sunday.

We recognize that some may still prefer to give online or in other ways, and that is still available. But by passing the plate, we want to bring our giving back into the rhythm of our Worship as a church family. Thank you for your ongoing faithfulness in supporting the ministry at CBC.

Mandarin Worship Sunday at 9am

This Sunday our Chinese congregation will gather in the Worship Centre to dive into God’s Word and explore how it speaks into their daily lives. This mostly Mandarin speaking congregation is a growing community of faith with a deep hunger for truth and a heart to serve.

They are currently seeking a new pastor—someone who will lead with wisdom, love, and vision. Let’s ask God together for clear direction, abundant provision, and unity as they take these next steps.

We believe God is calling us as a church to go deeper in prayer — not only for our own needs but for our families, for our church family, for our town, for our province, and for the brokenness of our world.

Wednesday October 29th at 7pm

This isn't a typical Church Service or Small Group meeting. It’ll be a time of thanksgiving and seeking God together in prayer — bringing him our faith and our doubts, our burdens and our requests, and crying out on behalf of our community and our world. So please, mark it in your heart and on your calendar because prayer is not optional for a follower of Jesus; it’s essential.

Church Financial Snapshot January to August 2025

We appreciate your support through your faithful givings of your tithes and offerings. Please continue to pray for our financial situation and our ministries. Your consistent and regular gifts will allow us to continue to meet all of our monthly expenses.

Our expenses this year are higher due to the steeple work. We were able to fund this work with money that we planned to spend in 2024 but had to hold until 2025. Our Chinese Congregation also raised some extra funds on top of their monthly contribution to help with the renovations.

We’ve used up a lot of our surplus (bank balance) for the repairs, and there are some smaller amounts still to pay. As a result, we need to work towards narrowing the gap between budget and offering on a week-to-week basis.
