Manitoba’s Doctors Supporting Response to Trade Tensions

144 words/ 1.5 min read

Yesterday, we released a brief and an action plan to support Manitoba’s response to the growing trade tensions with the United States.

WHY IT MATTERS: The action plan sets out to “tariff proof” the health care system along with Manitobans’ health and well-being. This advice includes:

  • Supporting Manitobans with economic, physical, and mental health support.
  • Extending buy-local initiatives to the health care sector.
  • Avoiding health care impacts in any tariff retaliation.
  • Continuing increases to health care funding along side any economic responses.

Nominate a Health Leader to the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame

105 words/ less than 1 min read

The Canadian Medical Hall of Fame relies on the community to nominate candidates for induction.

Unfortunately, the current nomination pool is not as diverse as it should be, nor is it reflective of current health leadership in Canada. Please help increase the diversity of CMHF Laureates through more nominations of individuals who identify as female or non-binary,  and/or who are Black, Indigenous or People of Colour. At this time we also welcome nominations of individuals who played critical, leadership roles in Canada’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

🗓️ Deadline for submissions for the 2026 Induction is Monday, June 9, 2025.

Nominate a health leader.
