February 12 is my birthday! Nostalgia is leading me to re-read some of the first historical romances I ever read. I was (am!) an avid Victoria Holt fan! Luckily some of my old books survived my house fire.
One of these books is
ON THE NIGHT OF THE SEVENTH MOON.
It smells a little smoky and "old bookish," but I am so thankful to still have it! I love that I wrote my name and date when "Santa" brought it to me.
On my kindle now, I'm reading
FROM A PARIS BALCONEY
by Ella Carey
I couldn't resist this one! Two protagonists, present day Sarah and Louisa in the 1890s, a mystery to solve, and the setting of Paris. I'm hooked! You will be too.
In tribute to Black History Month, I'm re-reading
A LESSON BEFORE DYING
by Ernest Gaines.
My first intro to this author was THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF MISS JANE PITTMAN. The TV adaptation of it was a viewing event back when it was first shown in 1974. Watch this clip, and I know you will want to read the novel and then
find the movie to watch- after you dry your tears!
