DCPS Families interested in Virtual Learning - July 30th deadline!
If you have general questions on virtual learning in SY21-22, please reach out to the Office of Integrity at dcps.cio@k12.dc.gov. or call 202-442-5885 (Option 2). If you have questions about medical eligibility for virtual learning, or the medical consent and certification form process, please contact the Student Health team at medicalconsent@k12.dc.gov.
If your student has a medical need and requires virtual learning during the upcoming school year, the deadline to register for this program is extended to July 30. The only way to receive virtual instruction during the 2021-2022 School Year is by submitting a completed medical eligibility form signed by your child’s doctor or nurse practitioner. You can review the form and read an FAQ for families at dcpsreopenstrong.com/sy21-22/virtual.

Do You Need Help Talking to your Health Care Provider about the Return to In-person School?
The Administration for Community Living has been working with a group of federal and non-federal partners to develop a COVID-19 decision guide for families with children with special health care needs, and they are seeking the assistance of DC families with beta testing this decision guide, you can find it here, or at AJE's blog here.

The DC Developmental Disabilities Council (DDC) seeks to strengthen the voice of people with developmental disabilities and their families in DC in support of greater independence, inclusion, empowerment, and the pursuit of life as they choose. DDC strives to create change that eliminates discrimination and removes barriers to full inclusion through our advocacy.

Youth engagement opportunity with NTACT-C
As an initial step in this process, NTACT:C in partnership with a core advisory group of youth/young adults is hosting an informational and outreach webinar on August 3, 2021 at 2:00 PM (ET). You can learn more here.

AJE has designed a toolkit to help you turn your everyday social media platforms into a tool for advocacy!
We have provided the social media handles for the DC Council members, examples and quotes taken from previous testimony given by AJE's staff, as well as sample graphics to use on your platforms. Use the sample tweets and graphics as a guideline on what to share on your own Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook accounts. This simple and easy guide is a great way to have your voice heard and share your opinion about the things that matter most to you!
