Dear George,

We are thrilled to introduce the exciting details for The Educated Grape's 4th Wine Country Experience! Our commitment is to always provide you with memorable experiences filled with new wine and food discoveries in both the finest, and emerging winegrowing regions. This will be our first long weekend Wine Country Experience with a focus on one of the premier winegrowing regions on the East Coast, Virginia!

This Wine Country Experience will open your eyes to how unique and delicious their wines are. Virginia is producing outstanding white and red wines from varying grape varieties in some of the country’s most picturesque vineyards. Their grape growing history goes back to the first settlers, and now Virginia is attracting talented winemakers and grape growers, producing very compelling wines by taking advantage of the unique terroir. Don’t miss this opportunity to join your fellow wine enthusiasts and discover this dynamic and emerging wine region.

The relationships, friendships and memories that have been created in our Wine Country Experiences have been amazing! We look forward to sharing these world class wines and cuisine in this stunningly beautiful region.

Cheers!

Wine Country Experience common FAQs...

How do I register for the Wine Country Experience?

Registration for this Virginia trip opens Thursday, May 23. Priority Registration will begin at 3pm Eastern, and public registration begins at 4pm (if spots remains). Interested in getting Priority Registration? Simply sign up HERE.

You will secure your spot on May 23 by making the down payment via online payment on our website. The remaining balance will be due one month after the deposit is paid. The balance may be paid by check or online. Failure to pay the balance one month after your deposit is paid will result in a loss of your reserved place on our trip, and loss of your initial deposit.

Once you have gone through the full trip details, we suggest you reach out with any questions you may have prior to May 23, as we anticipate selling out quickly.

What kind of wine is this regions known for?

Bordeaux-style red blends make up some of the most acclaimed wines coming out of the Commonwealth. While their blending percentages vary greatly across vineyards and vintages, the wines are consistently lush and layered. In addition to Bordeaux blends, wines made from grape varieties like Viognier, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot are outstanding and as well as the bright, crisp, white wines made from Petit Manseng, a Southern France variety.

Is there free time built into the trip?

This trip does not include designated free time. Since this trip is only 3 days, we want to ensure you are getting the most you possibly can out of this region for the short time we are there!

How do I arrange travel for the Wine Country Experience?

For our Wine Country Experiences, we always begin and end in the same location. For this Virginia Wine Country Experience, we will begin and end at our hotel in Chantilly, VA. If you are flying, it will be most efficient to fly in and out of Washington Dulles Airport (though the Ronald Reagan Airport or the Baltimore Airport could be other options). If you plan to drive, you will be able to park your car at the hotel for the duration of our trip, as transportation is provided for the duration of the Wine Country Experience itself.

Will The Educated Grape be providing any transportation to Virginia?

The majority of the people in our community are from the tri-state area, so we have received this question a few times. We will not be providing transportation down to Virginia, but if you are interested in carpooling with other attendees, we will be happy to facilitate organizing that as we get closer to the trip!
