Dear parents
We are thrilled to invite you to participate in our International Food Festival, a unique and exciting event where community members will showcase the culinary delights and products of their home countries or regions. With so many different nationalities, backgrounds, and experiences within our community, we are asking you to bring something to the - both literal and figurative - table. Parent involvement is critical in making this event a successful and memorable experience.
Event Details:
- Date: Saturday, December 16, 2023
- Time: 11am-3pm
- Location: Forest Road Campus Gym
- Description: a community event focused around food from different countries and regions, as provided by our community volunteers. There will also be a book sale, toy drive, refreshments, and raffles.
- Key volunteer positions - Chefs de table and Sous-chefs
What do we need from you: The set up of the event will center around parent volunteers as “Chef de table”. These key volunteers will choose a country/cuisine to represent, and then rally and coordinate with parents, teachers, staff, and students to provide dishes for those tables.
As a Chef de table volunteer, you'll have the chance to:
- Represent a country, region or theme at a table at the International Food Festival
- Bring a dish or dishes that you would like to showcase
- Coordinate with families and friends to bring dishes, decorate, and to spend a bit of time during the event supervising behind the table
- Send the recipe(s) to Communications for a possible Rochambeau Cookbook
- Engage with festival attendees, sharing the cultural significance of your dishes
- Assist with event clean-up and teardown of your own table
No experience necessary, and all volunteers will receive Rochambeau swag to keep!
If you are passionate about your country, a region, food, or you just want to be a part of this exciting event, please fill out our VOLUNTEER APPLICATION FORM by Monday, October 30th, noon.
We look forward to having you on board as a volunteer for our International Food Festival and to seeing what you will bring to the Rochambeau family table.
FAQs follow, and if you have any additional questions, please send an email to communication@rochambeau.org.
