DECA Announces the 2023-2024 Membership Theme: Experience the Difference

Not all experiences are created equal, and DECA is one of a kind! When you become a member of DECA, you’re one step closer to making your college and career dreams a reality. From competitive events to chapter campaigns and leadership development to exciting conferences, there’s something for everyone.

We can’t wait to show you what we’re all about! Experience it for yourself.

The Center and Council for Economic and Financial Education and FEPPP are pleased to present the free, Financial Challenge, an on-line personal finance competition for high school and middle school students in Washington. Teachers can enter students to take the multiple-choice exams during a three hour-window of their choosing between May 22^nd  and 9:00 pm on May 26^th, 2023. Students take the exam, and results are announced on June 30^th.  It’s that easy. (Detailed contest rules can be found on the registration website).

Fame and Fortune (Recognition and Prizes)

Student Prizes:

• First Place: $100 gift card
• Second Place: $75 gift card
• Third to Fifth Place: $50 gift card
• Students who place in the top 10% will be named Personal Finance Experts, and receive a certificate in recognition of their achievement.

Teacher Prize: The teacher with the highest average student scores will receive a $150 gift card. (Minimum class size for eligibility 15)

Recognition: A press release will be sent to area news outlets publicizing the schools that participate in the Finance Challenge.

Registration Instructions: Washington Students are competing as individuals, but you enter the names as if they were to be assigned to teams. This means that you can follow the directions in the videos linked on the website. You can name the teams 1, 2, 3, etc.

Students do NOT have to be registered in a personal finance course to compete in the challenge.
