Reminders of the Week:

  • When registering 20-page teams, advisors should NOT add anyone except the 20-page teams. This includes SCDC qualifiers from Area Conference. Do NOT add them to SCDC registration, as they will be automatically imported after your Area Conference.
  • Competition Guidelines: The rules at SCDC are two events maximum.
  • Events with tests cannot be combined.
  • NO double-ups on 20-page events
  • NO double-ups on Entrepreneurship events (cannot do a 10-page and 20-page entrepreneurship event)

  • In the SCDC Conference registration site, register your 20-page written event teams (identify team captain). Do NOT register any SCDC qualifiers from Area Conference.


  • (ADVISOR) DEADLINE: January 10th --- 20-page written event teams registered by advisor in SCDC Registration (5:00 p.m.)
  • Visit https://www.decaregistration.com/wa to finish registering your 20-page written event teams
  • Registration errors will incur 5 penalty points.







Housing Changes


This year, there will be a Housing Preference Form.

The form will be open January 20 at 4:00 p.m. to January 23 at 4:00 p.m. 


Advisors will be asked to rank their chapter's hotel choices from #1 (top choice) to #8 (last choice) on the form. Hotel assigned placement will be based on the form's submission date and timestamp. Hotel assignments will be emailed to advisors by the end of the day January 27.

Here are the questions on the form:

  1. School Name
  2. Advisor Name
  3. Specific or Special Housing Accommodations (ADA rooms, possible room sharing, supervision with other schools, room placements, etc.)
  4. Hotel choice ranking (list of hotels to rank)
  5. Estimated room count (# of single and or double rooms needed)

ICDC and IB Testing

DECA is working with the International Baccalaureate Organization to arrange IB examination on April 25, 28, 29 and 30 at the DECA International Career Development Conference in Orlando.


Once members have qualified for ICDC, interested finalists needing to take the IB examination in Orlando must have their school IB Coordinator fill out a request form (available in 2025). Please note that this process has a $52 USD fee per student. IBO will invoice schools. DECA will work to accommodate competition appointments to the best of its ability, given the nature of volunteer judges’ schedules.
