Only 155 more students need to VaxUp! to reach 70%
$7,000 scholarships are at stake!
Help us reach a 70% vaccination rate at UW-Parkside! UW students vaccinated against COVID-19 are eligible to win a $7,000 scholarship.

Under the “70 for 70” campaign, vaccinated students who attend universities that achieve at least 70 percent vaccination rates will be eligible for one of 70 scholarships valued at $7,000 each. Students at all UW System universities except UW-Madison are eligible for the drawing.

The campaign ends soon, but we’re closing in on 70%.  All we need are 155 more students to Vax up! Help us encourage vaccinated students to upload their information by going to the UW-Parkside website, or feel free to encourage those students wanting a vaccine to visit the website for location information.

THANK YOU for helping us maintain a healthy and vibrant campus environment!

WALL POEM UNVEILING KICKS OFF AFTERNOON OF ART APPRECIATION IN RACINE

A wall poem unveiling highlights a busy afternoon of art appreciation in Racine this Saturday October 23.

ArtRoot’s Wall Poems of Racine will host the unveiling party on Saturday, October 23, from 3:00-4:00 p.m. at 1346 Washington Ave. The Wall Poems of Racine is an ArtRoot project in collaboration with University of Wisconsin-Parkside and other community partners.

The project celebrates local literary talent by pairing an excerpt from a poem written by a Racine poet with a design created by a student from UW-Parkside Professor Carey Watters’ advanced graphic design class.

Phishing and Scam Text Messages

Recent scams have come to faculty, staff, and students through emails and text messages from people asking for full names, phone numbers, and gift cards or money. These scam attacks include messages that seemed to come from people familiar to your network such as faculty, staff, and students, including administrators. For example, recently someone used a current employee’s Name and Title to solicit another staff member for cash or transfer of funds.

Please be aware that UW-Parkside faculty and staff, including the chancellor, provost, vice-chancellors, or anyone else in our campus community will NEVER:

  • Ask for money that doesn’t go through proper channels to provide accurate accountability.
  • Contact you about a potential work opportunity that you have not applied for or expressed interest in from an unknown faculty or staff member whom you have not met previously.
  • Ask you for your name to be sent in a text to them, any faculty and staff contacting you will already have your information such as your name.

Please be on the alert for anyone asking for money or gift cards through email, text, or social media accounts. Also, please be aware of false accounts on any platform. If someone asks for money posing as someone from UW-Parkside, please do not respond and let us know at servicedesk@uwp.edu so we can do our best to remediate these threats. If you receive an email that you don’t recognize the sender, please forward the email to servicedesk@uwp.edu, we will make sure is not a scam attempt.
