Ventura Police Department Employee Engagement Survey

In 2019 and in 2020, the American Society for Public Administration surveyed Ventura Police Department employees as part of a series of citywide engagement surveys.

The 2020 results showed that nearly 95% of VPD employees were fully engaged in the work they do. VPD's mission is to protect, serve, and problem solve with our community and they take great pride in hiring the right people, providing quality public service, and connecting with neighbors through consistent engagement efforts.

What's Your Vision
for Ventura's Future?

Earlier this month, the City kicked off the "Visioning Phase" of the General Plan at its monthly General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) meeting. The 22-member committee meets virtually at 6 p.m. on the third Tuesday each month.

This visioning phase of Ventura's General Plan Update is one of six key phases intended to develop a long-term vision and guiding principles for the community

This August, the City will host pop-up events, interactive activities, and share engagement surveys to gather community ideas for the General Plan.

Take action and get involved in the General Plan. Follow the City on social media, register for email notifications, and visit www.PlanVentura.com to learn more.
Governor Newsom Calls
for Voluntary Water

Due to prolonged drought conditions and extreme heat throughout California, Governor Newson recently declared a Drought State of Emergency in 50 counties across the State.

While Ventura County is not included in the current proclamations, the Governor is encouraging all Californians to voluntarily reduce water use by 15 percent.

Looking for ways to save? Apply for one of Ventura Water's conversation programs or schedule a free consultation with a Water Conservation Specialist by calling Customer Care at (805) 667-6500.

Text to 9-1-1: Call if you can, text if you can't

Hearing and speech-impaired members of our community, or those in a situation where it is too dangerous to dial 9-1-1, have another option to get help in an emergency: Text to 9-1-1.

If you can, always contact 9-1-1 by making a voice call. This is a quicker way to provide information, interact with dispatchers, and request help in an emergency. Unlike a voice call, text messages are not real-time communication and are subject to issues such as delays or being received out of order.
