Due to the Covid-19 virus (Coronavirus), in-person worship services are canceled until further notice. The Reopening Task Force is anticipating that COVID-19 concerns will last well into 2021. Our primary concern remains to keep everyone healthy. We will continue to offer Zoom services regardless.

To understand your opinions, we need the congregation’s input on several options - please take the survey by clicking the button below by Monday, October 12th.
Volunteers Needed
Each week while we are worshiping via Zoom, we need an assisting minister and lector to help out - please consider volunteering! Sign up here

The Word This Sunday
October 11, 2020 - 19th Sunday after Pentecost
In Isaiah we are given a vision of the great feast to come, when God will wipe away death forever. In Jesus’ parable about a great banquet, those invited do not come, so the invitation is extended to others. In our liturgy God spreads a table before us. Even amid anxiety and hardship we rejoice in the peace of God which surpasses all understanding. With great joy we feast at the table of the Lord, and we go forth to share the wonderful invitation with others hungering and thirsting for the abundant life of God.

The feast of victory

You prepare a table before me, and my cup is running over. (Ps. 23:5)

Rejoice in the Lord always

Sock it to me October Mission Project!
Memphis Union Mission is the oldest and largest rescue mission in Memphis. They minister to the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of men, women, and families who are homeless, addicted, and in crisis. Their ultimate goals for their clients are to become mature disciples of Jesus Christ, achieve freedom from substance abuse, reunite with family and loved ones, and finally, to re-emerge as self-sufficient members of the community. As you can see, it is a very worthy organization that needs our help. We will be collecting new white tube socks (any size) for the Memphis Union Mission downtown for the month of October.
Please drop off your socks at Carol Rife’s home in the big green and gray bin outside of her garage. She will deliver them to the Union Mission at the end of the month. If you have any additional donations that you were not able to bring to the garden on the last day of the men's clothing collection on October 3, you may bring those items as well. Thank you!
ELCA Stories of Faith in Action

Stories are the foundation of our faith. They teach us how to serve God with humility. They remind us of our identity as God’s beloved children. They bring us together and give us hope for the future. The ELCA's annual "Stories of Faith in Action" project illustrates how God is at work across the ELCA through your generosity. We will be highlighting a different story video each week!

“Empowered to empower others”
The first full class of International Women Leaders scholarship recipients graduated in 2019. Today, we celebrate their dreams and accomplishments. Give today to support this program at
Our garden is doing so well this year thanks to all the "garden angels!" We have lots of produce that needs to be delivered to the Collierville Food Pantry each week during our growing season. Please choose a week you can help and sign up on SignupGenius. Contact Carol Rife with questions at 901-752-3957.
