Public Safety Community Block Party


You're invited to join the Ventura Police and Fire Departments for a free, community block party from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2022.


This family-friendly event will be hosted at the Police and Fire Headquarters, located at 1425 Dowell Drive in Ventura. 


Activities will feature multiple K9 demonstrations, a Jaws of Life vehicle extrication demo, fire extinguisher game, a hands-on CSI experience, a kid’s firefighter challenge course, child fingerprinting, station tours, trivia, and more.

The Fall Activity Guide features programs for all ages, including wellness classes, sports leagues, aquatic activities, historical tours, and more. It also hosts a city-wide news section with updates on new projects and improvements throughout the City.

Register: CARP Virtual Workshop

Get involved in climate change!


The Climate Action and Resilience Plan (CARP) is a roadmap for how the community will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and prepare for climate change impacts, future natural hazards, and increase resiliency. 


Community members can participate in the virtual workshop on August 11 at 6:00 p.m. Live Spanish interpretation is available.


Can't attend the virtual workshop? Complete the online survey open until August 15 available in English or Spanish.

Nomination period open for November 8 Election


The nomination period for obtaining and submitting candidacy documents for the City Council seats in Districts 1, 4, 5, and 6 is now open through August 12.


There is only one seat per district. Candidacy documents must be filed with the City Clerk’s Office during office hours.
