Josselyn is pleased to offer FREE Youth and Teen Mental Health First Aid training to support the mental wellbeing of young people in our community. This evidence-based program equips community members with the skills to recognize, understand, and respond to signs of mental health or substance use challenges in youth. 



The Pathways Evaluation Initiative is delighted to announce the launch of their eighth cohort application for Spring 2026 for the Emerging Evaluators Program. Pathways is a network with nearly 80 alumni in the Chicagoland area building local talent in culturally responsive and equitable evaluation practices.  

The evaluation workshop series will run from February 10 - March 17, 2026. Participants who complete the workshop series will have the opportunity to participate in one-on-one coaching for guidance and support with an evaluation project of interest. Coaching sessions will be offered from March 23 - May 15, 2026.

Thank you to everyone who came out to Keys to Home Saturday, January 10th! With 100+ residents, local leaders, and community organizations in the room, the energy was uplifting, and the commitment to making sure everyone in Lake County has a place to call home was loud and clear.

The event was organized by members of Live Well Lake County’s Housing Action Team and supported by Connections for the Homeless, Live Well Lake County, Schreiber Philanthropy, College of Lake County, Community Partners for Affordable Housing, PADS Lake County, Lake-McHenry County Habitat for Humanity and Waukegan Township. The College of Lake County – Lakeshore Campus was a beautiful location for the event that included an inspiring keynote address from Jawanza Malone, Executive Director of the Wieboldt Foundation and former organizer and Executive Director of the Kenwood Oakland Community Organization. The five breakout sessions were well attended and topics ranged from basics of affordable housing financing to fair housing laws and tenant organizing.

Next steps include regional meetings to share more about Connections for the Homeless’ advocacy program and Joining Forces for Affordable Housing, offering neighbors to organize and make data-driven decisions related to affordable housing. To aid with making data-driven decisions, Connections for the Homeless is creating Affordable Housing Report Cards for each of the 80 municipalities they serve in northern Cook and Lake Counties. The pilot Affordable Housing Report Card was created for the Village of Libertyville and debuted at the Keys to Home event. The report cards include a snapshot of housing-related data to highlight who can afford to live in a community and who is paying more than 30% of their income towards housing, which is the definition of Housing Cost Burdened, as well as an analysis of housing policies and their likelihood to increase affordable housing.

The first LWLC Quarterly Meeting of the year will be held Friday, February 13th, 2026 from 11:45 AM - 1:30 PM.
