League Moderates Altadena Town Council October 2023 Candidate Forum
A candidate forum for the Altadena Town Council election was held on October 19, sponsored by Neighbors Building a Better Altadena and moderated by LWV-PA member Robbie Davis with the support of Toni Cavanagh Johnson, Maureen Johnston, and Ruth Judkins. On October 14, Professor Caroline Heldman of Occidental College reviewed the current election landscape and what voters’ preferences (based on polling) foretell for 2024. She showed how the potential presidential candidates appeal to various segments of the population, along with an overview of the priorities of the average voter. A lively and insightful Q&A session followed.

2023 Ice Cream Social
Our Fundraiser/Friendraiser Was a Big Success!

The October 15 Ice Cream Social was by all accounts a great success as both a fundraiser and a “friendraiser.” We welcomed over 100 guests (including more than two dozen dignitaries), hosted a student voter activity session, raised money in our crowd-filled Silent Auction room, and generally had a wonderful time visiting with friends and eating Fosselman’s ice creams and sorbets.
