History In Motion: Home Movie Collection and Preservation

The Library’s Santa Barbara Community Archives Project is partnering with the Santa Barbara County Genealogical Society (SBCGS) to promote the importance of home movie collections.

Bring your eligible films to SBCGS for free off-site digitization by UCSB Library staff.

Arts Library Project Update

We now expect to open the new Arts Library to the public in late fall quarter.

Art & Architecture and Music print collections are inaccessible for public browsing until the opening of the Arts Library but can be requested via UC Library Search. 

New Taylor & Francis Open Access Agreement

The University of California (UC) and Taylor & Francis (T&F) reached a new four-year read and publish agreement that will make it easier and more affordable for UC researchers to publish open access (OA) articles in T&F journals.

The new partnership advances a mutual goal to empower more UC authors - especially in the humanities and social sciences - to share their scholarship openly with readers around the globe.

Browsing Collection

Materials in the Browsing Collection are now more easily discoverable thanks to a new featured collection in our online library catalog.

The Browsing Collection (1st Floor, Mountain Side) contains loanable general interest books in several languages, including contemporary fiction, cookbooks and health & wellness guides.

New Data Literacy Series Infographic

Our Research Data Services (RDS) team has created a new infographic about using spreadsheets for research data.

New Interface for Articles and Databases

The interface of the Articles and Databases list on the Library homepage has been updated.

The new interface makes it easier for Library users to discover available databases and electronic resources.
