Interning at Palm Coast United Methodist Church has been an enriching and hands-on experience that continues to shape my understanding of ministry, service, and leadership within the church. Every week brings new opportunities to serve, grow, and connect with the community in meaningful ways. This internship has offered a comprehensive glimpse into the inner workings of both the spiritual and operational aspects of church life.
One of the most impactful components of my experience has been my involvement with Our Father’s Table, a ministry dedicated to feeding the homeless and food-insecure members of our community. Witnessing the joy and gratitude on the faces of those we serve is a constant reminder of the importance of compassionate outreach.
In addition to this outreach, I have been deeply engaged with the music ministry. Each week, I contribute by either playing the piano or singing during Sunday worship. It has been inspiring to collaborate with fellow musicians and experience firsthand how worship through music uplifts the congregation and draws people closer to God.
I also regularly participate in leading Sunday services, contributing by reading scripture, delivering the call to worship, or offering prayers for the congregation. These moments have challenged me to grow in confidence and presence while reinforcing the importance of thoughtful, spirit-led leadership during worship.
Throughout this journey, I am continually reminded of the words, “For if I can help somebody, then my living shall not be in vain.” This quote captures the heart of my experience. Every act of service, no matter how small, contributes to something greater—and it is this belief that fuels my passion for ministry and my commitment to serving others. This internship has not only deepened my faith but has also strengthened my desire to pursue a life rooted in service and spiritual leadership.
