Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

Some historians believe that bagpipes originated from ancient Egypt and were brought to Scotland by invading Roman Legions. Others maintain that the instrument was brought over the water by the colonizing Scots tribes from Ireland.
Wherever they came from, it is another instrument to use to “toot your own horn”. And that is what we want to do. Congrats to the Center for the Arts Foundation for continuing to promote live music events during COVID. Music Monday in March (last night) was “All Things Irish” in preparation for St. Patrick's Day.   Check out the Portland Columbia Symphony calendar for similar music opportunities.
OPEN…FINALLY! Call a couple of friends, then get out of the house and support a local business. Call it exercise, if you’d like.  Mt. Hood Lanes, Inc. is (finally) open again.   You can just drop by but to be on the safe side, call for a reservation. There is an occupancy limit but no limit to the fun!
Fellow Member Opportunity: Thank you Shane Spannus, Chamber Board member and FedEx Ground Senior Manager, for letting us know about this opportunity. While the grants are open to a wide geographical area, it would be GREAT to see a local business be awarded a grant. Click on the link below.
Gresham Celebrates it’s own Black History Moment. Thank you MetroEast Community Media for sharing the video with your fellow members.

How often should we service our fuel system?
The fuel systems in our vehicles need to be kept clean of carbon and varnish in order to operate properly and keep the proper fuel/air ratio’s while the engine is running. A dirty fuel injection system can cause high emissions, reduced gas mileage and poor performance. It is recommended to have a professional cleaning of your fuel system every 20 to 30,000 miles as regular preventative maintenance.
Helpful hints when you have a fire in your home:
  • Limit movement in the home to prevent soot particles from being embedded into upholstery and carpets.
  • Keep hands clean so as not to further soil upholstery, walls and woodwork.
  • Place clean towels or old linens on rugs, upholstery and carpet traffic areas.
Animal Kingdom’s Expedition Everest and Disney’s Hollywood Tower of Terror are built just shy of 200-feet (199-feet to be exact). This is due to the fact that any building over 200-feet would require red flashing aviation lights.
A balanced diet that includes a variety of fish is great for your heart health. Consider adding fish or seafood to your weekly diet to "reel" in some great health benefits.

Travel Oregon
 Scenic Drives
You can see a lot of Oregon from behind the wheel of a car.

Oregon’s roads showcase the state’s grandeur. The ability to access Oregon’s diverse natural beauty, as well as historical and cultural sites, has earned it 29 designated Scenic Byways and Tour Routes. On some byways, you’ll drive from the high desert to snow capped peaks to verdant valleys in one go. You’ll experience the breathtaking views of Hells Canyon, Crater Lake, the Columbia River Gorge and Pacific coastline.
