Wilderness First Aid
February 28th
Wilderness First Aid training is a must for adults leading Scouts on high adventure treks, and now is the time to get certified. Hosted by the Heart of Virginia Council and taught by Outdoor Safety LLC, this two-day course provides American Red Cross certification in Wilderness & Remote First Aid and Adult CPR/AED. Through hands-on practice and realistic scenarios, participants gain the skills and confidence to respond when help may be hours away. If your unit is planning a high adventure trip, make sure your leadership team is trained and ready.

🚨 Scout Stories Featured at FOS Dinner

As we prepare for our Friends of Scouting Dinner this April, we’re gathering the inspiring stories (from 2024 through present) that truly show Scouting in action... and we need your help. We’re looking for Scouts whose journeys reflect the Scout Oath and Law, from meaningful Eagle projects and leadership achievements to life-saving actions or personal growth made possible through Scouting. If you know a Scout whose story deserves to be celebrated, please share it with us so we can highlight the real impact Scouting is making in our communities. Email submissions (including the Scout’s name, age, unit type and number, and a short summary) to issac.otero@scouting.org by February 15th.
